About Me

me
I am currently a fourth-year university student double majoring
in Journalism and International Relations (IR) at Webster
University. Throughout my studies, I have accumulated
communication and critical thinking skills that I can apply
across fields.

A St. Louis native, I have come to appreciate the gems of

my city--from Forest Park, Busch Stadium, the incredible
retaurants and everything in between. Because of my
Palestinian background, I have a multicultural worldview,
which is what sparked my interest in travel and journalism.

Within my IR studies, I have taken courses surrounding

topics such as human rights, international political economy,
international law, and diplomacy. Being a millennial I am,
I have become well-versed in the realm of social media,
pay attention to current world news, and passionate about
resolving the struggles and needs of those less privileged.

Pitched story ideas, interviewed various students and faculty, wrote

feature stories and opinion pieces, produced videos, and designed
page layouts. As copy editor, I proofread stories and layouts, checked
for spelling and grammatical errors, and fixed story structure. The
Ampersand Magazine is an award winning student-produced univeristy
magazine.

The Journal Newspaper, Webster University. 2014-2015

Pitched story ideas and wrote stories weekly on deadline. Stories

ranged from news, lifestyle, features, sports, and opinion pieces.
Interviewed students and faculty across campus. Produced multimedia
content for stories, including print, photos, and videography. The
Webster Journal is an award winning student-produced university
newspaper.
