somethingexplodedinside,whenIcheckedit,itwasauc3842ICthatexploded,cantherebe
anexplanationwhydiditexploded,abigchunkofitwherethenumberwasprintedistheone
thatpoppedout..andwherecanIbuythisIC,andhaveitreplaced..

Itookanotheridenticalworkingpowersupplyandswappedalotofmaincomponentsoneby
one.Componentsextractedfromfailurepowersupplyworkedfineintheother.Alsoextracted
componentsfromthegoodworkingpowersupplywereplacedinthefailurepswithnoresults,
sowecansaythatthefollowingcomponentsweretestedandfine:
IC1(UC3842),IC2eIC3(Optos),IC6(LP7510),D16(FRdiode),Q1,Q2,T1,Tl431andother
smallbipolartransistorsinthesecondary.
AfterreadingyourmessageiwillcheckalsoD3andR41.
I'mthinkingthatthepowersupplystartsandinmediatelystopsbyprotectsitself.
Couldbeabadsecondaryelectroliticcapacitors?Therearepracticallytheuniquecomponents
thatinottestedyet.

Whenmeasuredtheoutputvoltageswereasfollowing:12Valteredto17V,3,3Valteredto6,6
and5Valteredto7V.That'sthecausewhyPSstart,thenstops.
Anyidea?AnySuggestion?
