Skills & Abilities


I am a hard worker who does not like leave any task to the last minute or do a
project with minimal effort. I persist at any task or project I work on until I have
completed it to satisfaction. I am a fast learner, where I am able to quickly pick up
new skills.

COMMUNICATION
I am patient when dealing and interacting with patrons or people.
I show people of all ages the upmost respect.

LEADERSHIP
I solve any issue quickly but with precision and accuracy.
I step up and perform any task that is needed to be done.
I have led bible studies, Sunday school class, and Youth Group activities.

VOLUNTEER
Set up a system and maintain a library for Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church
starting in summer of 2013 to the present.
I have volunteered for four semesters with America Reads and three semesters
with the Nursing Home Visitation Program.
I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to New Orleans after Hurricane
Katrina hit. I served the people down there by helping cleaning up the trash and
clearing up some vegetation that was a local hangout for drug addicts who would
then attack the elderly that attended a local senior center.
Experience

Checking out and checking in items is the primary responsibility of this position.
Along with this responsibility, I have to run the pick list, answer phones, and
answer questions regarding book recommendations, item locations, and account
confusion. I also have the task of processing some materials for cataloging.

Shelving books and other materials is the main responsibility that I had but I also
help out at the circulation desk when needed. I have learned the program Polaris
and can easily navigate it. By being on the circulation desk, I pull items that are on
the holds list, checked items out to patrons, check in items that patrons bring
back, and look for lost items on shelves. I also repaired books that got damaged in
some way. I help anyone in the library who needs assistants.

My main responsibilities were to operate the circulation desk which included
checking in and out items, pulling holds, and shelving material. The system that
this library used was Siris. I repaired books, and cleaned DVDs/CDs. For about
three months, I worked in cataloging. I also have some experience in mapping.
