I. BACKGROUND
The condition of the banking sector in Indonesia has undergone many changes over
time. These changes are not only caused by internal developments in the banking sector,
but also from the influence of outside the banking sector, such as politic, economy, social,
technology, environment, and law. The banking development showed the dynamics in
economy. Prior to the practices that occur at this time, there are many problems associated
with the system of banking industry. The main problems in banking practice are setting the
financial system with regard to the mechanism of determining the volume of money
circulating in the economy. Therefore, it is important to implement the system of regulation
and its supervision of banking industry by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). Banking
regulation and its supervision are geared to optimize the function of the Indonesian banking
system in order to create a good banking system comprehensively and able to maintain the
interests of the community well, develop naturally and benefit the national economy.
To build the good, strong, and efficient banking system, it necessarily requires the
strategic policies to produce a system of regulation and supervision which integrated to the
overall activities of banking sector. In the decision process of the strategic policies, aside
from the internal and external factors the banking world, human resources is also the
important factor in a decision making process of a public policy on the banking sector.
Therefore, it is important to form human resources with capability in of analyzing strategic
policy to generate useful output of public policies on society. And not only have high
analytical thinking, but also good communication skills and soft skills required in order to
produce efficient workforce.
The formation of human resources with those qualifications are the responsibility
of the education world and the industrial world. Higher education institutions like
university is one of the places for potential workers to learn a lot of things before expanding
to industrial world. For that, the author as a student who has been provided by a wide range
of basic theory acquired in college, should also be equipped with the ability to be able to
apply these theories to the real-world industry.
Related to that, the author would like to learn the system of regulation and
supervision of the banking sector at the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) in the form of

internship. With the implementation of practical work, it is expected to help prepare the
student as a human resource which:
Have the ability to apply knowledge gained in the college directly to the field of work.
Capable to think comprehensively in identifying and solving complex and dynamical
problems that occurred in the field of work
Able to provide real picture of the situation and the condition of the real problem that
occurred in the field of work, where so far students only acquire theoretical lectures
from the college.
Add the experience in the real field of work, so that after completing their studies,
students have adequate provision for entering the field of work within the targeted
industry.
Based on the description above, internship is the proper activity for students to
practice in applying their knowledge as practitioners which could improve human
resources. The implementation of internship is also as one of the conditions for the student
to graduate from Master of Business Administration program with the form of internship
report and thesis. Therefore, with the reasons and descriptions that explained above, then
the author as students of General Management-MBA, School of Business and Management
ITB intends to objectify these goals with internship program at Otoritas Jasa Keuangan
(OJK).

II. AREAS OF INTEREST

From the description above can be seen that the author in the implementation of the
internships interested in the field of Strategic Management in banking sector regulation, so
that the author can understand the study of a strategic policy and its impact on the banking
sector in Indonesia. Thus, it can help the author to prepare and finish the thesis which
related to the topic of public policy in the banking sector Indonesia

III. BENEFITS
3.1. For Student
As one of the requirements that must be met to complete and graduate from Masters
in Business Administration program from Bandung Institute of Technology.
To assist and advance the completion of the thesis preparation.
To provide an overview to the students in applying knowledge and theory that have
been obtained during the college in the field of work.
Students can prepare themselves mentally and physically in building quality in order
to face competition and be competitive in the field of work.
To give a briefing on student to be a potential, competent, and professional in
entering the field of work.

3.2. For School of Busineess and Management of Bandung Institute of Technology

(SBM ITB)
As a means to obtain information about the general state of the financial regulatory
agencies in the surrounding area through the receipt of a report job training activities
that existed at Otoritas Jasa Keuangan.
The creation of a mutual cooperation program between the two parties which beneficial
for each other and can put potential students to gain experience in the related institution
As the evaluation material of the curriculum which conducted over the requirements of
the theory and practice in the field of work.
To introduce the General Management-MBA program at Bandung Institute of
Technology (Jakarta Campus) to the general public.

3.3. For the Related Party (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan)

To establish a mutual beneficial cooperation with higher education institutions, which
in this case is Bandung Institute of Technology.
To provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience in the field of
regulation of financial services.

As a means to give consideration in determining the criteria of the labor required by
the related party, which is in terms of human resources produced by higher education
institutions.
To assist the task of the institute or company employees in fields related to the work.

IV. OBJECTIVES
To add the experience, information and knowledge as well as the students can practice
the knowledge that has been gained in the workforce to meet the needs of the entity.
To measure the reasoning ability to understand, discuss, and resolve problems in
accordance with the areas of interest in the field.
To knowing how a decision-making process of strategic policies in the banking sector
and other related processes in a real and relate it to current occupied areas.

V. EXECUTION TIME
Based on the conditions set by the General Management-MBA studies program, at the
Bandung Institute of Technology (Campus Jakarta), the author expected to implement the
internship program for 2 (two) months, start from February 13 2017 until 13 April 2017.

VI. CONCLUSION
Internship which will be performed by the author is one of the programs organized
by the study program General Management-MBA of Bandung Institute of Technology
(Jakarta Campus). This program not only aims to practice the theories that have been
obtained during the college, but also provide new experiences and insight into the real field
of world. Through this program, the students of Bandung Institute of Technology are
expected to form the character and competence in order to truly fit the needs of the current
industry or business.
Therefore, the author as the student of General Management-MBA from Bandung
Institute of Technology, hope to join the internship at Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). The
author also hope get the guidance from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) party to carry out

the practical work, and the author will try to exert all her ability in conducting job in
Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK).
Thus, hopefully this internship proposal get a good reception from the Sir/Madam
as the head of the institution concerned. May Allah SWT provides strength and ease to
overcome the challenges of internships implementation so that the advantages could be
benefit for the progress in the future. Finally, the author would say thank you for your
attention and consideration from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK).
