Blooms Level of Critical Thinking:
Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating Description of how to implement in the class: This activity can be implemented several different ways in the classroom. The PowerPoint and mp4 presentation that I created can be used to introduce both the lesson topic and the software students will be using individually later in the lesson. The mp4 presentation is interactive because students can respond to the questions in the video. It also provides me, as the educator, an opportunity to check for understanding before diving into the body of the lesson. After I present my mp4 presentation to introduce the topic and once I teach the content, students will have the opportunity to create their own PowerPoint presentations about their favorite branch of government. Students will be instructed to research their favorite branch of government and discover several facts about it that were not discussed in the lesson. After creating the PowerPoint, each student will have the opportunity to record their voice narrating each slide. Then they will convert their PowerPoints to a video. As students complete their videos, I will assist them in uploading the presentations to the class blog for parents, other faculty, and members of the community to view. Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): This lesson plans meets LoTi level 4. This lesson reaches up to level 4 because it provides voice and choice to the students as far as what branch of government the students want to research. The students are also able to choose what graphics to include in their individual presentations. Furthermore, LoTi level 4 requires that the software is modeled to the students and then turned over to them to work on later in the lesson, which is what takes place in this lesson plan. I model with my mp4 presentation and then students create their own. Finally, student work is uploaded to a classroom blog for people outside the classroom to see. Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided: When viewers open my mp4 presentation or PowerPoint they will see that the topic of the lesson, the three branches of government, is the title of my presentation. Then users will observe a video with audio recording that the students are able to interact with.
