welcome to theheart of our collections

These collections bear the exceptional imprint of one of the rareauthentic

Manufactures, meaning a watch company that develops and produces
itsmovements in-house. Welcome to theland of Zenith. A land where
daringreigns supreme, where pleasure blossoms by making dreams come
true, whereauthenticity flows naturally from a rich history stretching over
almost 150years.A Manufacture still located in the very spot where it was
born, andwhich currently accommodates no less than 80 watchmaking
professions. Anincubator for some of the most virtuoso talents oftheir
generation whoperpetuate the work begun by Georges Favre-Jacot in 1865,
mastering each andevery gesture in a free-spirited approach to creating
mechanical feats blendingnoble traditionswith the avant-garde. From
20 thcentury marinechronometers to the flight instruments that accompanied
the early days ofaviation, along with the first ever integrated automatic
chronograph, allZenith creations reflect this unremitting determination to
explore unchartedterritory.

While I currently enjoy the honour of serving as guardian of thishorological

temple, my role is first and foremost that of a go-between Someonewho
jealously safeguards yesterdays legacy soas to nurture tomorrow. It iswith this
in mind that we have undertaken a sweeping renovation of ourmanufacturing
premises that will be completed by our 150 thanniversary in 2015. While the
mostsophisticated technologies are implementedin this process, we have
chosen to preserve the historical architecture of thesite, since it is within
these red and white brick walls that some of thefinest pages in the Zenith
legend have been written and will be for manydecades to come. Through
these pages, I invite you on a journey to the heart ofthis legend and wish
you a wonderfuldiscovery!

OF THE WATCHMA K IN G FIRMAMENT
T r a n sce n di n g t h e v isio n a r y spi r it

It all began with a man, Georges Favre-Jacot, together with a dream,

adestiny. That of creating the first industrial Manufacture in history,
capableof making the most reliable and accuratewatches ever imagined
and of therebychanging the face of 19 thcentury watchmaking. Thus
transformed fromchrysalis to full-fledged butterfly, it has remained
so ever since, buoyed upby themen and women who perpetuate the
visionary spirit of GeorgesFavre-Jacot. Artisans with golden hands,
authentic witnesses to creative daringwho follow their own star in
daily fulfilling thedestiny of one of the mostinnovative manufacturers
for almost 150 years.

A RENAISSANCE AMI D THE Q UART Z CRISIS

Even though he is reluctant to admit it, Charles Vermots courageous actdid

indeed spark Zeniths renewal in 1984 with the revival of the El Primerocalibre.
After a temporary eclipse, the magic offine mechanical movementsappealed
once more. In 1994, the Manufacture launched another movement thatwould
find its place in the history books: the automatic ultra-thin Elitecalibre.
In 1999,Zenith joined the LVMH luxury group, and distinguished itselfin
2003 by a new innovation that quickly asserted itself as one of itssignatures:
the Open concept. A dial aperture afforded fascinatingviews of the escape-
ment of theEl Primero calibre, revealing the enchantment of a mechanism
oscillating at theexceptional speed of 36,000 vibrations per hour.

THE ART OF D ETAIL
E XCELLENCEGENER ATES EMOTIONS

At Zenith, each detail stems from technical, functional and aesthetic

research that reflects the meticulous finishing of the timepieces born
in theManufacture. The work of experienced artisansrepresenting no
less than 80 professions, this extremely detailed attention dedicated
to the movement as well as to the dial and case are all signature fea-
tures of a Zenith watch. This has beentruesince 1865 and doubtless
explains while the brands star has continued to shineso brightly in
the Fine Watchmaking firmament. Because the enduring strength ofa
Manufacture is inseparablyentwined with the excellence it dedicates
todeveloping and producing timepieces that are the stuff of dreams, the
preciseexecution and the care lavished on each detail will determine
theemotionalforce exuded by the watch. It is this quest for perfection
that has guided thepath of the Manufacture, since excellence naturally
generates true emotions.

Above and beyond a mere statement of intent, excellence is an integralpart

of daily reality at Zenith. There are no compromises and only the best
isconsidered acceptable. While the strength ofthe Manufacture lies in
regroupinga broad range of skills, its primary wealth lies in the men and
women whomaster and pass them on. Their experience and their deft ges-
tures are tokens ofexcellence, revealing the power of the craftsmanship
they convey. Whatever thepart produced, its hand finishing bears the guar-
antee of undeniable addedvalue: it is the unmistakable signature ofFine
Watchmaking. At Zenith, eachmovement is thus treated to the most refined
finishing and decoration. Circulargraining, bevelling, guilloch work and
Ctes de Genve are all signs of thecaredevoted to parts of which some
will remain forever hidden inside casesthat are all crafted in keeping with
Zeniths very own rules of excellence.

All the artisans master skills nurtured by their own experience in orderto
make their own contribution to the finished work. Like all parts involved

Capturing the essence

of a centuries-old tr adition

Areturn to essentials.Moons havewaned and waxed, seconds have

slipped by, and yet they are still there, captured in the perpetual running
of the movement. An anthem to thebest-countedhours. To decomposed
minutes the purest of them all. A tributeto the best-kept times. To the
sources of a past that continues to excel.Certain people have gained
knowledge of discreettreasures that retain theirperpetual radiance.
Shining inside cases that each individualcan carry around with them,
the precious magic is passed on through theundiminished admiration
of time-honoured skills. It all began with those whogave birth to the
legend. Theirdescendants honour a form of modernityepitomising the
quintessence of life and movement.
