BALL VALVE ASSEMBLY ASSIGNMENT
Create a ball valve assembly as described in the following steps. Submit your report with the three
shaded views:

Exploded shaded view of ball_handle subassembly.

Isometric or trimetric unexploded view of total ball valve assembly with 30 orientation of
ball_handle.asm. Make the color of the body transparent so that the ball is clearly visible.
Isometric or trimetric exploded view of total ball valve assembly with 30 orientation of
ball_handle.asm. The color of body should be solid opaque.
Right side unexploded view of total ball valve assembly with 15 orientation of ball_handle.asm.
Be sure the color of body is solid opaque.
Check for global interference and capture the entire screen showing there are no interfering
parts.

Create an assembly named ball_handle as shown below. This assembly will be sub-assembly of the total
assembly of ball vale. Note that ball is first assembled using default constraint and then place the
handle.

104
Create a new assembly called ball_valve; this is a total assembly. Create two datum axes as show below
namely AA_1 and AA_2.

Next create a new datum curve through AA_1 and make an angle of 30 with ASM_FRONT datum plane.

105
The ADTM1 datum plane will be aligned the FRONT datum plane of ball_handle assembly. Note that by
changing the angle of ADTM1, the flow through the valve can be controlled eg. fully closed, partially
opened and fully opened.

Finally be sure to edit the position of exploded view so that it represents how the valve components are
put together see figure below.
