As the pastor of the church stood on the pulpit to preach, John who was walking around saw this

church and decided to enter.

The mood was so silent in that everybody was attentive listening to the sermon

John with his style of dress, baggy jeans, vest, and a big necklace around his shoulder, big boots
and a bandana around his wrist entered the church. On realizing that all the sits where full, he
started moving towards the pulpit. The sound made by his shoes and the floor caused some
interruptions and everyone in church looked at him, the pastor also had to pause his sermon.

There were many murmuring and voices, who the hell does he think he is said one, look at how
shabbily he is dressed voiced another one.

John on realizing that the front seats were also full, decided to go and sit on the floor near the
pulpit. This caused more anger among the brethren, Is this guy mad, who the hell is this idiot
were the kind of statements made.

Just in the behind seat was an elder of church, Deacon Matthews who had witnessed everything.
After John had taken his seat, elder Matthew left his seat behind and started towards the front
while holding his walking stick. The way elder Matthews held his stick, everybody thought he
was going to cane the intruder. There were murmuring again, yeah he should be disciplined, does
he take us for fools, and Matthews should cane some manners into him. Those were the kinds of
voices heard at that time.

There were in for the shock of their lives, when elder Matthews reached the pulpit where Johns
was seated, instead of caning him as the Congregation expected, he instead joined him at the
pulpit and they sat together.

The pastor on looked at his congregation and told them, you might forget the sermon that I
preached today but none of you will ever forget this other sermon that has just taken place now.

Many times we as Christians have gone to judge, criticize others as though were Angels
ourselves yet the Bible says Him and only He (Jesus) is holy.

Jesus came for every one of us and he associated with all sinners and people but we have a
problem inviting the lost and needy in our lives. We want to associate ourselves with people we
know we will gain from and not the ones who will gain from us.

Jesus was a perfect example of a servant and humble person when he washed His disciples feet.
The disciples wanted to find out who was the greatest among them but Jesus silenced them when
he washed their feet yet he was the master. How sorry in this present situation where we want to
be boss of others. We want to exalt ourselves above others and be bossy not knowing that we are
widening the gap among ourselves.
