Analysis:

On my first mentor visit, I wanted to discuss my Original Work and my final

product proposal in terms of what my intentions were and what my purpose entailed. My

original work was heavily centered around public opinion on what funding and scientific

research should be invested in concerning the healthcare sector. Learning a lot about

the opinions and the intensity by which people believed that much funding should be

invested into healthcare, inspired me to make a final product that appealed to the

publics desire to learn more about health risks associated with different body systems.

Therefore, I decided to make a web-based platform that would allow users to visualize

the process of many medical conditions that are common in our community.

First of all, I must decide what medical conditions to focus on. I plan on making it

based on body systems, so I plan on picking three to four systems with five common

medical conditions that I can find visual animations for. Afterwards, I may expand by

adding information and details about the course and progression of symptoms

associated with the medical condition or the causes and various forms of prevention

and treatment that are associated with the disease. In order to remain relevant to the

community, I am likely going to start with the cardiovascular system and the endocrine
system. Problems related to the heart are very hard to treat and account for the majority

of deaths yearly worldwide. Similarly, many people are impacted by conditions that

negatively impact the pancreas and the thymus, such as diabetes mellitus and thymus

cancer.

The next thing I wish to consider is the platform on which I conduct this on. I want

to ensure that the visual that I use is very clear and can show many parts of the body,

but still has a lot of information and can fit within my current website. I will likely make

an interactive image, which will likely require some money for software, in order to allow

users to click on different parts of the body and observe the effects of medical

conditions. As of now, I will continue to learn how to implement an interactive picture

and will continue my research about different body systems.
