Well,"we"absolutelydohaveaworkingknowledgeandfaithinourmeasurements,buthowclearisourfoundational
understanding?Whatprocessisattheveryheartofourperceptionofcolor?

Stilltothisday,theoriesanddebatesregardingthebasenatureoflightandcolorabound.Itisataleasoldastime.
Colortheoriesexistedinallculturesasitisaprimemetaphysicalandscientificquestionattheheartofthehuman
experience.Manyluminarieshaveprovidedinspiringexplanationsthatwouldguideallthoughtsonthesubjectto

AdditiveColor:

Whenyoushineemittedwhitelightthroughaprismofopticalglass,theelectromagneticradiationweperceiveas
lightdeflectsfromitsoriginalincomingangle.Thisistheresultoftheelectromagneticwavelengthspassingthrough
amediummoredensethantheairandstrikingatleasttwodifferentanglesonitswayinandout.Thisprocessis
knownasrefraction.Visiblelightisarangeofelectromagneticwavelengthsratherthananysingleonewavelength
andtheprocessofrefractionismoreextremeforsmallerwavelengthsthanthelongerwavelengths.Thisresultsin

greenandblue.Whenallthreeoftheseprimarycolorraysareblendedintothesamespaceweperceivewhitelight.
Whentwooftheseprimariesareblendedintodifferentcombinations,theyformthesecondarycolorsofyellow,
magentaandcyan.(Note,magentaisnottypicallyvisiblefromaprismbecausetheblueandredraysarenotableto
mixduetothegreenraynaturallypresidingbetweenthem.Magentaishowevercapableofbeinggeneratedby
manuallymixingthecorrespondingwavelengths,ascanbedemonstratedbyatelevisionset,oraspecialprism

SubtractiveColor:

Whenyoustareatashadowsurroundedbylightwhilelookingthroughaprismhowever,thecolorrelationshipis
exactlyreversed.HeretheprimarycolorsappeartobeYellow,MagentaandCyanwhichseeminglycombinetoform
secondarysubtractivecolorsofRed,greenandBluethecolormixturegoesonfromthere.Thisissubtractivecolor.
Whatishappeninginsubtractivecoloristhesubtractionfromwhitelight.Forinstance,cyanisthesubtractionofred
fromwhite.Yellowisthesubtractionofbluefromwhiteandmagentaisthesubtractionofgreenfromwhite.The
secondarycolorsinthesubtractivecolorprocessarethusthesubtraction/absorption/negationof2primarycolors
fromwhite.Redwouldbethesubtractionofgreenandblue.Bluewouldresultfromthesubtractionofredandgreen.

Icollectedallthepublishedcolorwavelengthvaluesfromeveryreputablesource,establishedstudy

Inanalyzingthevalues,thefirsttwothingsIrealizedwasthatcentergreenwasrightinthecenter

Ithenanalyzedthewavelengthsbetweenthesecondarycolorsofmagenta,cyanandyellow.These
alsowereseparatedbyaratioofphi,justinaninversedirectionastheprimariesofR,G,B!

Movingfurtherthroughthebranchesofcolorsandseveralothercolorgroupings,Icontinuedto
findphivaluesintheNMscalesbetweenthem.

ThisismeasuredvalidationthatPhiistheinherentvalueofinductionandpolarization,emission
andabsorptionofthe3dimensionalaxesofmagneticfields,firstproposedbyJonDepew.
ThisisachartofmycolorcenteraveragesandalistofsomeofthephirelationshipsIfoundwithin
thespectrum.

EnergyRefractionastheDopplerEffect

LetusmovenowtowardtheDopplerEffect.Thisisbestexplainedbythesensationofafiretruck
passingyoubywhileringingitssiren.Asthetruckisapproachingyoufromadistance,thesound
wavelengthsbeingemittingarecompressedbytherelativevelocityofthevehicletowardsyou,
resultinginahigherpitch.Thenasthetruckpassesyouby,itssoundwavesarebeingexpandedas

Notewhiletherearenogreenstarstobeperceived,youcandirectlywitnessthemagnetic
alternationoflargeenoughstarswhentheyarelowenoughonthehorizon,wheretheatmosphereis

Lookingatthebehaviorofrefractedlight,weseeaphenomenawithmuchincommontothe
Dopplereffect.Weseealiteralredshiftandaliteralblueshiftoftherefractionangle.Themiddle
greenraywouldbeabalancedangleofrefractionbetweenthetwo.Iliketocallitthefundamental
angleofrefraction.Likethehypothetical"greenshift,"thisbalanced/fundamentalangleof
refractionimpliesitisinsomewaystatic/inunison/neutralwithsomeprinciplevalueofthevisible
light.

Asdemonstratedabove,thereisaphiratiorelationshipexistingbetweenthewavelengthsofthe
primarycolorswhichisretainedthroughthefollowingordersofcolorlogicbeyondtheprimaries.
Thefactthatthethreeprimarycolorsarethefundamentalresultofelectromagneticrefractionimplies
thattheseanglesofrefraction(andtheirresultingeffectuponwavelength)arestabilizedatthe
