How to identify a COADE HASP hardware lock
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The HASP hardware lock is used by many software vendors.
HASP shipped by COADE will have a transparent sticker with gold
lettering on one side.
The bottom left of this sticker will have the HASP "batch code" of
"MQCQX". Any other set of characters means the ESL is not from COADE.
COADE ESLs can come in two colors:
- A green plastic shell indicates the ESL is for local use on a single
workstation only.
- A red plastic shell indicates the ESL is for network licensing, and
can contain a number of licenses.
DO NOT CONFUSE THE COLOR OF THE USB LIGHT (normally "red") WITH THE
COLOR OF THE USB SHELL (BODY), WHICH CAN BE EITHER RED OR GREEN.
