How to Make a Plastic Bottle Mosquito Trap
Alright, ladies and gentlemen. Today, I am gonna show you how to make a mosquito
trap. This traditional technology can be applied easily at your house or may be in your
boarding house. so, without further ado, lets go down to business.

First up, you need to provide some stuff to begin this small project.

Ingredients

200 milliliters of water

50 grams of brown sugar
1 gram of yeast

Things You'll Need

1 two liter plastic bottle per trap

Box cutter, utility knife, or scissors

Tape

Lighter (optional)

Then, after collecting all stuff needed you could start to create your own mosquito trap.

Part 1 : Cutting the bottle

1. Put 200 ml of water into the bottle.

2. Measure from the water line to the top of the bottle.
3. Divide your measurement by two and subtract 3 cm (1").
4. Measure from the top of the bottle down this distance and make a mark.
5. Do this at three or four spots around the bottle, then complete the circle.
This will be your guide line for the cut.
6. Cut carefully along the guide line until the bottle is in two sections.
7. Retain both parts of the bottle.

Part 2 : Charging the bottle with chemicals

1. Mix 50 grams of brown sugar with 200 milliliters of hot water. Allow the mixture
to cool.
2. Pour the mixture in to the lower half of the plastic bottle.
3. Add 1 gram of yeast, but do not mix. This will produce carbon dioxide.
Part 3: Assembling the bottle

1. Invert the top of the plastic bottle and place it inside the bottom part of the
bottle. It will be upside down.
2. Push the top inside gently until the cut edges match. At this point, the top of the
bottle should be well above the water line. If not, empty a bit of the solution so that the
adult mosquito will be able to fly in and not drown in the liquid.
3. Secure the cut edges with three or four pieces of clear tape.

Part 4 : Replacing the chemicals

1. Disassemble the bottle after 10-14 days.

2. Wash the bottle halves.
3. Fill with fresh chemicals and reassemble the trap.

Now, you have created your own mosquito trap. Congratulation! Well, my parner will
explain to you how mosquito trap works. Harist, please

Harist:

Thank you for this great opportunity. I am gonna go strictly to the point.

Generally, mosquitoes are attracted to CO2 (Carbon dioxide) released by your lungs while
breathing. in this case the yeast is the main subtance in producing of CO2. Attracted to
this amount of the CO2, the mosquitos then are lured into the bottle and eventually they
will be stuck there. Havingno food to consume, the mosquitos cannot survive any longer
and then their death is the final.

Thats how it works ladies and gentlemen. Then, I have several tips you can apply at
house easily.

TIPS

Place the bottle near windows or where there is good circulation of fresh air.
Use a lighter to gently melt the cut edges for keeping you r safe from a dangerous
edges.

Hmmm, its quite easy, isnt it. hopefully after wacthing the tutorial on how to make a
mosquito trap you can make your own. its very accessible and applicable. Rather than
buying the mosquito killer why dont you create it by yourself? Thanks a lot for your
attention and good afternoon.
