    If you're like me, you get many recipe ideas from the web. I don't like to have my laptop in the kitchen where I can splash it, so in the past I noted down a recipe before I started. I had lots of scraps of paper with scribbled ingredients and instructions on them, and wasn't very organised about where each recipe came from, how I could improve it, or even what some of them were for! I've put together a template - it's the Recipe Scribbles document in my collection. Here's an example of how to use it.

    Ingredients Ingredients
    350g plain flour 1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp bicarb 2 eggs
    1 tsp salt 350g dark chocolate (grated or
    225g butter chopped)
    175g caster sugar
    175g soft brown sugar

    Brief Instructions Brief Instructions

    Cream butter and sugar together and beat in the eggs, then add the vanilla
    extract. Then mix in the dry ingredients.

    Drop pieces of the dough, about a tablespoon each, onto a greased baking
    sheet. Bake in pre-heated oven for about 10 minutes.

    Notes Notes

    Rather sweet. Reduce sugar amount and substitute in some honey instead?
