To Whom It May Concern,

I am a teacher of Social Sciences at Carol I National College and I am writing on

behalf of Oana Diaconescu, who was a student in my Psychology class in the 10th grade
and is now a student in my Philosophy class. In addition, I have prepared her for the
National Psychology Olympiad in the 11th grade. I highly recommend Oana as a student
at your university because in the past three years she has proven to be one of the best
students of my career!

The most important of Oanas qualities are her well-rounded intelligence and her desire
to surpass herself. Before 10th grade, she had been successfully channeled on exact
sciences. In addition to the colleges focus on Mathematics, Oana decided to challenge
herself and expand her knowledge in Psychology. She developed such a strong passion
for exploring the underlying reasons of human behavior that she decided to take part in
the National Olympiad. During the weekly preparation for the Olympiad in the 11th grade,
I was astounded by her perspicacity. Compared to other students I had prepared and to
her class, her ability to understand and make original connections between concepts is
impressive. She managed to earn first prize at both the regional stage and the national
stage of the Psychology Olympiad.

Another of Oanas outstanding performances was that in 10th grade she managed to
maintain a 10 out of 10 GPA while studying for the Psychology Olympiad. She is all the
more appraisable for this feat as she had Arnold neuralgia during that time, and had to
miss around three weeks of school. The illness begun around the time of the County
Stage of the Olympiad and therefore, Oana was unable to concentrate and finish the paper
for the exam. She has since proven even more relentless in her pursuits, determined to
improve her performance at the Psychology Olympiad the following year. She read
inexorably and went well beyond the required reading for the Olympiad, showing passion
and rigorousness. The result of her perseverance was clear with her winning the
Psychology Olympiad at the national stage, 1.5 points ahead of the runner-up!

Oana is also involved in journalism and creative writing, through which she manifests her
curiosity about the world. She has been an editor of the English language magazines
Catcher, Carol I High Schools publication, and The Sentinel, a regional
publication. Both magazines are recognized as being among the best of their type in the
country and have received numerous awards. Her writing skills were appreciated beyond
high school: she was selected to participate in a Journalism Camp organized by the US
Peace Corps from a pool of 300 applicants nation-wide. She was also selected for the
European Youth Parliaments Editor Training, where she was one of the 15 participants
admitted from the entire European Union.

Academically and in general, Oana is one of the most consistent, passionate and
intelligent students I have ever met. She managed to add social sciences to her astounding
other pursuits and revealed an unforgettable talent. Her commitment has never faded, and
she aims to participate in the Philosophy Olympiad this year as well. I believe Oana has a
true potential and I enthusiastically recommend her for admission at your university.

Sincerely,
Daqui-Herrera Maria
