Overview:
The central idea for this report is based on the widely held assumption that training
is not a popular practice in Pakistani firms especially the service sector where it is
highly required. Our focus will be a big insurance company and how it identifies the
need for training in specific categories and develop the design/format for the
training program plus how do they go about its implementation.
EFU is a well renowned company so our research methodology will not only examine
its training programs and their effects but we will also draw comparisons with other
companies in the same sector. This will help us identify the existing loopholes in
their strategy and how can we give useful recommendations to overcome those
weaknesses in their training program structures.
We will also observe how training needs differ between different subsections under
the umbrella of EFU and how that impacts training design and how does the training
and development process adapt to these differences.
Our contact is in the HR department which will give us more exposure to the
integrated layout of the company so that we can get better insight into the
requirements of each department and the before-after effects of training on several
different performance indicators and organizational development.
Our report will also look into the factors that influence T&D in our firm and the
methods they use after establishing objectives. We will also try and identify any
special training areas in EFU and discuss the means by which training programs are
evaluated to give a conclusion with suitable recommendations at the end.
Sampling:
Will depend on the exposure we manage to get in EFU and the people willing to talk
to us but our aim is to segregate employees into groups based on the type of
training they received, when and the department they belong to. Random samples.
