Computing/ICT Qualifications/Experience

GNVQ in ICT (Merit)

A level in ICT level C

I have previously used of computing hardware, such as whiteboards, printers


and desktop computers within school. Furthermore, I have used technological
communication aids such as; eye gaze machines, talkers and switches for
communication. Additionally, I have used I pad apps for cross-curriculum
learning. I have also taught pupils how understand how to use hardware and
software effectively and how to use the internet safely. I am very confident
with social networking, printers (troubleshooting) and cameras.

PGCE Computing audit revealed these priorities

My computing audit revealed the following priorities:

My ability to monitor and assess childrens use of computing requires


improvement.
My level of knowledge/skills on a variety of computing programmes/
software needs to be enhanced.

legislations relating to computing need to be reread in order to refresh


my memory on them.

I require improvement of my skills relating to classroom management


and the ability to develop lesson plans that integrate the effective use of
computing across the curriculum. Additionally, I need to be able to use
computing so that it does not obscure the subject content/message. I
feel that my skills and knowledge in these areas should improve vastly
throughout my placements.

I lack knowledge on what a voting device is.

I also wish to look at a range of whiteboards so that I know how to use a


variety of them excellently. In particular, I need more knowledge on how
to use a C touch board effectively.

Based on my knowledge from my GPP, I will identify areas of


the curriculum that could be enhanced by computing and 18/02/2
produce a document to include ways that I enhance these 017
areas when I am teaching in FPP.

Enhance my understanding any areas of computing that


havent already been addressed.
I will research KS 1 Programming Language e.g. ScratchJr,
Daisy the Dinosaur, Lightbot. This will develop my
understanding on these programmes.

I will research on the internet about voting devices and if my


FPP has access to one, I will use it.

In FPP I will create lesson plans for national curriculum


subjects that include computing. I will include whole class and
group work in my lessons. I will make sure that computing
does not obscure from the main subject/content.

I will look through my blog to improve my blogging expertise. I


will add a variety of features to my blog. Including video. This
will so that I can navigate a blog editing site.
