EC-Net 4 Supervisor
Overview
The EC-Net 4 Supervisor is a software
TM
platform used in server-class applications. It
makes managing all buildings at an enterprise
level possible, giving facilities managers the
ability to quickly respond to problems and
insights to optimize their system.
The EC-Net 4 Supervisor allows multiple
Niagara-based EC-BOS series controllers,
along with other ECLYPSE Connected IP and
Wi-Fi products series, to be networked together.
It serves real-time graphical information to
standard Web-browser clients and provides
server-level functions. These functions include
centralized data logging/trending, archiving to
external databases, alarming, dashboarding,
system navigation, master scheduling, database
management, and integration with other
enterprise software applications through an XML
interface (oBIX standard). Also, it provides a
comprehensive graphical engineering toolset for
application development.

Powerful Security Features

passwords, TLSv1 for secure

EC-Net 4 can be integrated with existing
enterprise identity and access management
systems, such as LDAP and Kerberos
Employs a Role-Based Access Control
(RBAC) for simplified configuration of user
access and permission controls
All user actions, along with any security
issues, are recorded in an audit log for
increased traceability

Capacity-Based Licensing Model

The licensing model for the EC-Net 4 Supervisor
is simplified and includes standard IP-based
open protocol drivers (e.g. BACnet,
LonWorks, Modbus) by default. Determine
the number of EC-BOS connections required
and the number of IP-based points that will be
integrated and select the right capacity license
from the start. License upgrades can be
purchased in the future as your needs grow.

EC-Net4 Supervisor Versions
EC-Net4 Supervisor is available in the following capacity range. Software maintenance is required
when purchasing EC-Net4 Supervisor softwaresee the following sections.

EC-Net4 Supervisor 0 EC-Net4 Supervisor with 0 Niagara network connections. Includes
standard drivers. Is also licensed to run EC-NetAX 3.8. Software
Maintenance Agreement (SMA) must be purchased in conjunction
with Supervisor software.
EC-Net4 Supervisor 1 EC-Net4 Supervisor with 1 Niagara network connection. Includes
standard drivers. Is also licensed to run EC-NetAX 3.8. Software
Maintenance Agreement (SMA) must be purchased in conjunction
with Supervisor software.
EC-Net4 Supervisor 2 EC-Net4 Supervisor with 2 Niagara network connections. Includes
standard drivers. Is also licensed to run EC-NetAX 3.8. Software
Maintenance Agreement (SMA) must be purchased in conjunction
with Supervisor software.
EC-Net4 Supervisor 3 EC-Net4 Supervisor with 3 Niagara network connections. Includes
standard drivers. Is also licensed to run EC-NetAX 3.8. Software
Maintenance Agreement (SMA) must be purchased in conjunction
with Supervisor software.
EC-Net4 Supervisor 10 EC-Net4 Supervisor with 10 Niagara network connections. Includes

EC-Net4 Supervisor 100 EC-Net4 Supervisor with 100 Niagara network connections. Includes

EC-Net4 Supervisor UNL EC-Net4 Supervisor with Unlimited Niagara network connections.
Includes standard drivers. Is also licensed to run EC-NetAX 3.8.
Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) must be purchased in
conjunction with Supervisor software.
EC-Net4 Supervisor Demo EC-Net 4 Supervisor Demo. Includes all drivers and EC-Net 4 Pro.
Can also run EC-NetAX 3.8. Purchase this version for internal use, ex.
technician's laptops. Note: This license expires annually and its
renewal is covered by the EC-Net Support Fee.

EC-Net 4 Supervisor Software Maintenance Agreement

Software maintenance is required when purchasing an EC-Net 4 Supervisor software. The minimum
initial software maintenance plan is 18 months. Optional 3 or 5 year maintenance may be
substituted.
If Maintenance coverage is not purchased for any period, the price of Maintenance for the next
period for which it is purchased will be (a) the Maintenance fee for the period(s) for which
Maintenance was not purchased, up to a maximum of 5 years; and (b) the Maintenance fee for the
next year.
These software maintenance plans are ordered separately according the EC-Net 4 Supervisor
version chosen. See the price list for more details.

Core Capacity Upgrades

Core upgrades add extra Niagara connection capacity to the EC-Net 4 Supervisor software. The
following options are available.

Niagara Connection Adder Adds one additional Niagara connection to EC-Net4 Supervisor.
EC-Net4 Supervisor 100 Upgrades "small" EC-Net4 Supervisor (EC-Net4 Supervisor 0
Upgrade through EC-Net4 Supervisor 10) to 100 Niagara connections. Will
maintain any Niagara Connection Adder that were added to original
license.
EC-Net4 Supervisor UNL Upgrades EC-Net4 Supervisor 100 to unlimited Niagara connections.

Database Drivers
Many open protocol IP drivers are included with EC-Net 4 Supervisor. However, the following
database drivers must be purchased separately if required.

Device integration packs add extra device connection capacity to the EC-Net4 Supervisor software.
The following options are available.

Compatibility
In any given EC-Net4 system, the EC-Net4 Supervisor must be running the highest version of any
Niagara instance in the architecture.
When connecting to EC-BOS series controllers that are running older versions of EC-Net 4, these
compatibility guidelines apply:
EC-NetAX: EC-Net 4 Supervisors can connect to EC-BOS series controllers running EC-NetAX
versions 3.6.406, 3.7.108, 3.8.38.
EC-Net R2: EC-NetAX and EC-Net 4 Supervisors can connect to an EC-BOS running R2 through
the oBIX XML interface only. oBIX is included in all EC-NetAX and EC-Net 4 Supervisors as a
means of integrating EC-Net-based Release 2 (R2) EC-BOSs. With Release 2.3.522 or higher,
the oBIX driver can be added to expose all data points, schedules, trends and alarms to an EC-
NetAX or EC-Net 4 system. This oBIX driver is both a client and a server.
