AN EARCOS WEEKEND WORKSHOP
HOSTED BY BRENT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MANILA
There is strong compelling evidence that classroom assessment practices can
have a dramatic impact on student achievement. And effective assessment
starts with a clear, compelling curriculum.

Through a series of interactive, practical activities participants will be

introduced to several classroom-based assessment practices which are
designed to use the assessment process to improve, rather than simply audit
student learning. Participants will also explore where assessment fits in the bigger picture of
curriculum, why so many schools worldwide are rethinking their assessment practices, and what
'science' is driving assessment practice. The practices we will explore include:

*Refining our understanding of the four types of learning

*The 5 facets of assessment
* How to select the best tool for every learning outcome
* Using contextual assessments to assess what is most essential
* Practical ongoing assessment tools
* Practicing with double duty evaluation tools
