Objectives:
1. The Law of Conservation of Energy applies to all systems. Energy may be released to
the environment through friction in the form of heat.
2. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy in an object.
3. Thermal energy is the total KE + PE in an object.
4. Heat is the transfer of thermal energy from hotter to colder.
