WALK-IN INTERVIEW

SECOND NOTIFICATION

A walk-in interview will be held on July 23, 2010 at 12.30 pm at the Department
of Biochemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari,
Cooch Behar for the post mentioned below.

One JRF/SRF/RA for the project entitled “Detoxification of pesticides by


sensitized photochemical degradation and toxicity study of their photoproducts”
funded by CSIR, New Delhi (Sanction No. 38(1238)/09/EMR-II dated 01.12.09) under
Dr. Goutam Kr. Pandit, Principal Investigator and Reader & Head, Dept. of
Biochemistry, UBKV, Pundibari, Cooch Behar.

Qualification:
For JRF: M. Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemicals or Biochemistry or M. Sc. in
Chemistry with 55% marks and passing of NET (conducted jointly by CSIR and UGC) or
GATE test.
For SRF: M. Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemicals or Biochemistry or M. Sc. in
Chemistry with or without NET/GATE qualification and at least 2 years of research
experience after M. Sc. as evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals.
For RA: M. Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemicals or Biochemistry or M. Sc. in Chemistry
followed by Doctorate or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research experience after
M. Sc. or have submitted Ph.D. thesis and pending award of Ph.D. degree (may be
selected provisionally as SRF (Extended) for one year and to be regularized as RA after
award of Ph.D. degree within one year).
Age limit: The upper age limit for JRF, SRF, SRF (Extended) and RA shall be 28, 32, 33
and 35 years respectively as on the day on which the application is made.

Duration: For 3 years from the start of the project.

Fellowship: The fellowship payable to JRF, SRF or RA will be as follows:

In addition, the Fellow/Associate will be entitled to house rent allowance (HRA)
and medical allowance (MA) admissible as per the rules of the University following
CSIR guidelines.

Interested candidates are requested to appear in person directly in the interview


with application on plain paper along with bio-data, original and attested copies of all
testimonials and two copies of passport size photograph. Willing candidates are requested
to send in advance one copy of application along with bio-data without any testimonial to
the Principal Investigator at the address given below.

Terms and Conditions:


1. The post is purely temporary and coterminous with the project.
2. Mere possession of minimum qualification shall not make a candidate selected to the
post.
3. The decision of the Selection Committee will be final when binding in all respects.
4. No TA/DA will be admissible for the candidates appearing the interview.
5. The University will not be responsible for non-occurrence of the interview on the
scheduled date due to any reason beyond its control.
