POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Early Childcare Caregiver

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Early Childhood Coordinator

MINISTRY GOALS: To provide child care and age appropriate Christian training for children
(infant through 5 years) in a safe and nurturing environment while parents
attend Christian Education, fellowship and worship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Member of Hillside Fellowship Church
attend Hillside for at least 6 months
16 for caregiver or older
pass background screening
minimum of 2 years childcare experience
obtain Darkness 2 Light Training

DAYS/HOURS: Sunday mornings occasionally (8:30 to 12:30)

Various week days and evenings (hours vary)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: General Description:

The Early Childhood Caregivers primary responsibility is ensuring the safety

and welfare of the children and providing comfortable, nurturing care.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Arrive 15 minutes prior to service
Receive children into the room
Enforce the security number system for receiving and releasing
children
Accurately label childrens belongings
Follow scheduled routine for activities
Play, interact with and read to the children
Serve a snack and water
Change diapers
Lift, hold and carry up to a 30 lbs. child
Supervise and guide Early Childhood volunteers
Straighten and sanitize all common areas and any mouth toys prior
to leaving
Contact the Early Childhood Coordinator with any concerns,
questions, improvements or problems
Give advance notice (as much as possible) for any days off
Report needed supplies to Early childhood Coordinator
