Teach foundational education courses including but not limited to: Reading Foundations,

Traveled to secondary schools across the nation to work with struggling districts in the area
of literacy achievement. Provided professional development based on request or needs
assessment. Coached individual teachers, supported curriculum development, identified
weaknesses, created specific improvement plans based on deficits.
LITERACY AND LANGUAGE ARTS INSTRUCTIONAL COACH, HIGHLAND MIDDLE
SCHOOL-ANDERSON, IN, 2013-PRESENT

Acted as instructional coach for approximately 1500 students and 100 staff. Responsible for
developing instructional maps for English/Language Arts, Sciences, and Social Studies
curriculums, including creation of common formative assessments. Launched Professional
Learning Communities and shaped PLC format. Evaluated staff, supply supplemental
materials to meet staff and student needs, and create professional development programs.
Participated in various district-wide committees focused on school improvement including
8-Step, and Turn-Around Principles. Part of school administration team.

FLAGSTAFF, AZ, 2009

Taught Research Writing class to first through third year Navajo and Hopi Indian college
students. Assisted students in preparing and developing thesis for graduation. Remained

Team taught Language Arts portion of Humanities course for eighth grade students. Created

Acted as assistant principal for Taylor Intermediate School for and Middle School. Assumed
all duties of the position: supervision and discipline, staff development, technology
development, staffing/hiring needs, special education training, attendance, and school
improvement. Led Community Council, which met quarterly to evaluate school progress and
set goals for student achievement. Highlighted Achievements: Successfully increased and
maintained staff morale by implementing effective communication techniques and climate
monitoring systems. Contributed to public relations campaign by implementing and chairing
Community Council.

Created an after-school program for gifted student writers. Students share work, receive
feed- back from peers and myself. Students given information on current writing contests,

Instructed and managed a middle school newspaper staff, published monthly. Instructed
