Vorwort
Unsere Geltung und Position auf dem Weltmarkt wird
durch die Qualitt unserer Produkte entscheidend mitbe-
stimmt.
Die Qualitt Ihrer Lieferungen hat unmittelbaren Ein-
fluss auf unsere Produkte. Unsere Lieferanten sind als
unsere Partner fr die Qualitt ihrer Produkte verant-
wortlich.
Die vorliegende Richtlinie soll dazu beitragen, auf der
Basis der im Abschnitt 1.2 genannten Regelwerke eine
gemeinsame Qualittsstrategie umzusetzen, um damit
reibungslose Ablufe zwischen unseren Lieferanten und
ZF sicherzustellen und Kosten zu minimieren. Sie stellt
jedoch keine Einschrnkung dieser Regelwerke dar.
Innerhalb der gesamten Lieferantenorganisation muss
eine alles umfassende Philosophie der kontinuierlichen
Verbesserung (KVP) eingefhrt sein.
So soll durch partnerschaftliche Zusammenarbeit das
Null-Fehler-Ziel langfristig erreicht werden.

Introduction
The quality of our products is a key factor for our position
and reputation in the world market.
The quality of your supplies has a direct impact on the
reputation of those products. As partners, our suppliers
are responsible for the quality of their products.
Based on the regulations stated in section 1.2, the
purpose of this directive is to define a common quality
strategy in order to achieve fully integrated processes
with our suppliers and ZF and also to minimize costs.
However, this directive does not impose restrictions on
these regulations. Within the entire supplier organization
a comprehensive philosophy of continuous improvement
(CIP) must be established.
The Zero Defects long-term objective is to be achieved
through cooperation based on partnership.

Anforderungen
1.1 Geltungsbereich
Die Richtlinie zur Sicherung der Qualitt (QR 83-B,
Betriebsbedarfe) ist fr Zulieferungen von Produktions-
mitteln (z. B. Maschinen, Anlagen, Werkzeuge, Vorrich-
tungen, Prfmittel) und Prozessstoffen (Schmierstoffe,
Khlmittel, Chemikalien, Reinigungsstoffe) an die Stand-
orte des ZF-Konzerns weltweit gltig.
Rechtsverbindlich ist ausschlielich die deutsche Version.
1.2 Qualittsmanagementsystem
Ein wirksames Qualittsmanagementsystem entspre-
chend dem Regelwerk ISO/TS16949:2002 [19] oder VDA
6.4 [16] ist Voraussetzung einer Lieferbeziehung zu ZF.
Die Wirksamkeit des QM-Systems spiegelt sich wider in:
Anlieferqualitt
Wirksamkeit und Schnelligkeit der Umsetzung von
Korrekturmanahmen
Kommunikation auf allen Ebenen
Inhaltlicher und termingetreuer Abarbeitung von Neu-
und nderungsprojekten
Die Mindestanforderung ist der Nachweis einer Zertifizie-
rung nach ISO 9001 [01]. Der Ablauf eines Zertifikats
ohne geplante Re-Zertifizierung ist ZF mindestens drei
Monate vor dem Ablauftermin mitzuteilen. Neue und
aktualisierte Zertifikate sind unaufgefordert an die be-
lieferten ZF-Werke zu schicken. Die Aberkennung eines
Zertifikats ist unverzglich anzuzeigen.
Durch dieses Qualittsmanagementsystem soll das
gemeinsame Ziel Null Fehler erreicht werden.
ZF behlt sich vor, gegebenenfalls mit seinen Kunden
nach vorheriger Ankndigung Audits zu Qualittsma-
nagement-Systemen, Prozessen und Produkten durchzu-
fhren. Den ZF-Beauftragten ist hierzu der Zutritt zu
ermglichen.
Anmerkung:
Die aufgefhrten Punkte dienen der Verdeutlichung und
stellen keine Einschrnkung der oben aufgefhrten Regel-
werke dar.
1.3 Geschftssprache
Geschftssprache ist die Landessprache des Besteller-
werkes, alternativ englisch.

QS 9000
VDA 6.1
Requirements
1.1 Scope
The quality assurance directive (QR 83-B, non-production
materials) is applicable worldwide to the supply of
production equipment (e.g. machines, equipment/systems,
tools, fixtures, test equipment) and process materials
(lubricants, coolants, chemicals, cleaning agents) to all
ZF Group locations.
The German version is legally binding.
1.2 Quality management system
An effective quality management system, according to
the regulations of ISO/TS16949:2002 [19] or VDA 6.4
[16] is a prerequisite for the supply relationship with ZF.
The effectiveness of the QM system is reflected in:
Quality of delivered products
Effective and prompt implementation of corrective
actions
Communication at all levels
The processing of new and modification projects with
due adherence to contents and deadlines
Minimum requirement is a certification according to
ISO 9001 [01]. The expiration of a certificate without
planned recertification must be reported to ZF at least
three months prior to the expiration date. New and
updated certificates must be sent to all affected ZF plants
without further request from ZF. The revocation of a
certificate must be communicated to ZF immediately.
The full implementation of the quality management
system enables he supplier to achieve the common goal
of Zero Defects. ZF reserves the right to audit the
suppliers' quality management systems, processes, and
products, after prior notification and if necessary with its
customers. For this purpose, access is to be granted to ZF
representatives.
Note:
The above statements serve as clarification and represent
no restriction on the regulations specified above.
1.3 Working language
The working language is the national language of the
purchasing plant, alternatively English.

1.4 Qualittsziele
Im Rahmen der Qualittsplanung ist die wichtigste Auf-
gabe des Lieferanten, eine Null-Fehler-Strategie zu ent-
wickeln und alle erforderlichen Manahmen zu ergrei-
fen, um das Qualittsziel Null-Fehler zu erreichen.
Zur Messung und Bewertung der erreichten Qualitt
definiert der Lieferant interne und externe Qualittsziele.
1.5 Umwelt
Ein wirksames Umweltmanagement, welches die Ein-
haltung der jeweils gltigen Umweltvorschriften gewhr-
leistet und die Umweltsituation des Lieferanten kontinu-
ierlich und effizient verbessert, ist ein wesentlicher
Beitrag zur Liefersicherheit.
ZF hat sich dem Schutz der Umwelt verpflichtet. Alle
ZF-Werke sind nach ISO 14001 [02] zertifiziert. Wir
erwarten daher auch von unseren Lieferanten die Selbst-
verpflichtung zum Umweltschutz in Form eines imple-
mentierten Umweltmanagementsystems.
Die Zulieferungen mssen den jeweils gltigen gesetz-
lichen Vorschriften fr den Umweltschutz entsprechen
und die ZF-Regelwerke ZFN 9003 [21] und ZFN 9004-
1[22] bercksichtigen. Auf Anfrage zeigt der Lieferant fr
seine Produkte geeignete Verwertungs- und Entsorgungs-
konzepte auf.
1.6 Projektplanung
Bei Bedarf fordern wir von unseren Lieferanten im Rah-
men eines Projektmanagements eine systematische Pla-
nung in Anlehnung an VDA Band 4 [14] oder APQP [43].
Diese Planung umfasst sowohl die Produkte vom Liefe-
ranten als auch dessen Zukaufteile.
1.7 Unterauftragnehmer
Der Lieferant ist fr die Entwicklung seiner Unterauftrag-
nehmer nach den im Abschnitt 1.2 genannten Anforde-
rungen verantwortlich. Vergibt der Lieferant Auftrge an
Unterauftragnehmer, mssen die Forderungen dieser
Richtlinie auch durch diese erfllt werden.
ZF behlt sich vor, gegebenenfalls mit seinen Kunden,
nach vorheriger Ankndigung auch Unterauftragnehmer
zu auditieren. Hierdurch ist der Lieferant jedoch nicht
von seiner Verantwortung dem Unterauftragnehmer und
ZF gegenber entbunden.

Requirements
1.4 Quality objectives
In the context of quality planning the most important
objective of the supplier is to develop a Zero-Defect
Strategy and, in support of this, take all necessary
actions to achieve this goal.
For the measurement and evaluation of achieved quality,
the supplier must define internal and external quality
objectives.
1.5 Environment
An effective environmental management system, which
ensures compliance with applicable environmental
regulations and continuously and effectively improves the
suppliers environmental situation, is an essential
contribution to the reliability of supplies.
ZF has committed itself to the protection of the
environment. All ZF plants are certified according to
ISO 14001 [02]. Therefore, we expect our suppliers
commitment to environmental protection in terms of
an implemented environmental management system.
The supplied product must conform to the applicable
environmental regulations and must consider ZF
regulations ZFN 9003 [21] and ZFN 9004-1[22]. Upon
request, the supplier shall present appropriate recycling
and disposal strategies for its products.
1.6 Project planning
If necessary, we ask our suppliers, in the context of
project management, for systematic planning in
accordance with VDA Volume 4 [14] or APQP [43].
This planning includes both the suppliers' products and
its sub-contractors' parts.
1.7 Subcontractors
The supplier is responsible for the development of its
subcontractor(s) according to the requirements
mentioned in section 1.2. If the supplier places orders
with subcontractors, the requirements of this directive
are applicable to them as well.
ZF reserves the right to audit its suppliers sub-contractor(s)
after prior notification and, if necessary, together with its
customer. However, this does not release the suppliers of
its responsibilities towards the sub-contractor(s) and ZF.
Anforderungen
1.8 Abnahme / Produktfreigabe
Bei Bedarf fordert ZF die Produktfreigabe entweder in
Anlehnung an VDA Band 2 (PPF) [12] oder dem Produk-
tionsteileabnahmeverfahren der QS 9000 (PPAP) [42]
oder durch ein anderes von ZF festgelegtes Abnahmever-
fahren. Bei Wiederholbeschaffungen kann ZF einen
gesonderten Serienprozessfhigkeitsnachweis fordern.
Der Lieferant installiert einen dokumentierten internen
Freigabeprozess welcher auf Anforderung von ZF einge-
sehen werden kann.
1.9 Reklamationsbearbeitung
Nach Reklamation durch das ZF-Bestellerwerk sind
sofort Fehlerabstellmanahmen einzuleiten, zu doku-
mentieren und auf Anforderung von ZF in strukturierter
Form (z. B. 8-D Report) termingerecht einzureichen.
Falls gefordert sind Sofortmanahmen sptestens
innerhalb eines Arbeitstages schriftlich an ZF zu
berichten.
Abschlieend ist die Wirksamkeit der Korrekturma-
nahmen ZF zu berichten.
ZF behlt sich eine Verifizierung vor.
Bei mangelhaften Lieferungen sind andere betroffene
ZF- Werke umgehend vom Lieferanten zu informieren.
1.10 Abweichungsgenehmigung
Bei Abweichungen von der Spezifikation ist grundstz-
lich vor Auslieferung eine Freigabe von ZF einzuholen.
Auf Anforderung von ZF sind Fehlerabstellmanahmen
in strukturierter Form (z.B. 8D Report) einzureichen.
Alle Lieferungen, die auf Basis einer Abweichungsgeneh-
migung erfolgen, mssen zustzlich abgestimmte Kenn-
zeichnungen aufweisen.

Requirements
1.8 Acceptance / Product release
If necessary, ZF requests product release either in
accordance with VDA Volume 2 (PPF) [12] or the
Production Part Approval Process of QS 9000 (PPAP)
[42] or by means of a specific ZF defined acceptance
procedure. In the case of repeated procurements, ZF can
request extra evidence for volume production process
capability. The supplier must install a documented
internal release process which, upon request, can be
reviewed by ZF.
1.9 Processing of complaints
After receiving a complaint from a ZF purchasing plant,
the supplier must implement corrective measures
immediately, document them in a structured manner
(e.g. 8 D Report) and submit them within the time
period specified by ZF.
If requested, containment actions must be reported to
ZF in written form within one (1) working day.
For completion, the effectiveness of the corrective
measures must be reported to ZF.
ZF reserves the right to verify effectiveness.
In case non-conforming supplies are discovered, all
affected ZF plants must be notified immediately by the
supplier.
1.10 Deviation approval
In case the supplier requests the shipment of supplies
deviating from the specification, a release must be
granted by ZF prior to shipment.
If required by ZF, corrective measures must be submitted
in a structured form (e.g. 8 D Report).
All subsequent shipments of these non-conforming
supplies must have appropriate identification labels
attached.

stellen den ZF-Standard dar und umfassen die Min-
destanforderungen. Sollten andere Formulare zum Ein-
satz kommen, so sind diese mit dem Abnehmerwerk zu
vereinbaren.
