Experimentation with Pointillism

These are the results of learning about
pointillism. I tried creating different 3-
dimensional objects and parts of the
human body by using only small dots.
The hardest challenge of the process is
intensifying the shadows on the object in
order to create the dimension of the
shape and portray the light source.
Another difficult process was drawing
the shadows created by the objects itself.

On the picture on the right, I used 2B, 4B,
and 6B graphite pencils. On the images on
the bottom, I used different sized felt-tip
drawing pens, such as the 0.1mm and
0.3mm tip.

Futuristic City

On the drawing
on the right is my
initial sketch of a
futuristic city for
a school project.

The drawing
below I created as
my final piece, in
which I created a
post-apocalyptic
scenario, inspired
by the final scene
of the movie
Passengers.

Portraits

This three-piece work is

a school project
revolving around self-
portraits.

For the initial
photograph, I had to
draw in squares in order
for me to be able to
replicate the drawing in
a bigger scale. The
photograph was printed
on an A2 paper, and the
pencil sketch was drawn
on A3 paper.

For the pencil sketch, I
series of graphite
pencils in order to
create a more realistic
feel to the portrait.

The final piece of the
set, we had to find a
typical style from a
classical period of
history. Since I noticed
that my pencil sketch
looked a little solemn, I
decided to replicate my
drawing in a pop art
style inspired by Roy
Lichtenstein. Here, I
used acrylic and
watercolor paint to
color, and a marker to
outline. I over-
exaggerated a lot of my
features in order to
make it more comical.

Plastic Carving

The aim of this project was to create a

plastic carving from a still life picture and
print it by applying ink on the carving and
pressing it against a piece of paper.
