Approvalofmeetingminutesfrom1/25/17meeting

BOD members approved the meeting minutes from the 1/25/17 meeting. BOD members also agreed that a
summarized version of the meeting minutes can be posted online. Samer to email Munir with the summarized
versionandaskhimtoincludealinktotheminutesintheweeklyemail.

ActionItemsfromtheBOD+BOTMeeting

A key action item from the BOD+BOT meeting was to start a membership drive as well as start different
committees to get the community involved. Zarina agreed to lead and gather people for the membership,
interfaith,andyouthcommittees.ShewillalsotalktoBrotherAbdulAwwalwhoisinvolvedininterfaithactivities.

BOD members next discussed the Finance committee being led by Basha Sajjad. The committee is working to
formulizeabudgetforMCCandwillmeetseparatelytodiscussbudgetaryitems.BashaSajjadalsoinformedthe
BODthathewillbegoingtoBankofAmericabranchovertheweekendtogetsignatoryauthorityontheaccount.
Basha mentioned that he would need signatures from Catherine, Amir, and Samer on both the resolution and
signatureauthorizationforms.SamertoworkwithBashatomakesureallsignaturesarereceived.

MCCCommitteesandBODRelationshiptoCommittees

BODmembersagreedthatallCommitteeswillreporttotheBODs,andwillperiodicallyprovideupdatesonthe
tasksbeingpursuedbyeachcommittee.

HatimsYouthProgramUpdate

Danyaal provided an update on Br Hatims youth program. The program is planned to start in March. Danyaal
mentionedthatHatimhastriedtobookthegymatHartMiddleSchoolbuthasnothadanyluck.Hatimisworking
withMunir.Hatimsprogramwouldbeeveryweekandhehassomehypotheticaldatesinmind.DanyaalandAmir
tofollowupandprovidetheBODanupdate.

MCCSecurity

CatherineprovidedanupdateonMCCsecurityplans.Theplanistoinstallcamerasatthefacilityregardlessofthe
contractwithADT.CatherineaddedthatJ.JisworkingwithBelcasemandSalmantoinstallcameras,andthatthe
costofinstallationisaround2.5K.TherewascontractforthisandwasinplacesinceJanuary2015.Contractwith
J.J.statesthathewouldprovideasitethreatassessment,riskassessmentandanalysis,andinformthecommunity
ofthesecuritysituationatMCC.CatherinementionedthatJ.Jhasbeenpaid1.5K,andhardwarecostsareseparate
fromthiscontract.

DanyaalprovidedanupdateontheInternetsetupatMCC.InstallationisscheduledforFeb17,andendofFebis
theplannedgolivedatewithComcast.BODmembersdiscussedtheFacebookgroupandagreeditwastoomuch
worktomonitoradvertising.Atthemoment,MunirandBasilupdateMCCFacebookgroup.BODmembersagreed
to pause the group page for the moment until there is clarity and a formulated objective for the group. Shahid
wouldtaketheleadontheissue.

Shahid updated the BOD members on next steps for the MCC website. At present, there is no need for a new
website.Shahidisworkingonthedocumentforthewebsiterequirementsandwillprovideanupdatein4weeks
followedbyasmallsurveytothecommunity.

AssemblywomanCatherineBakerMCCsinvolvementwithlocalofficials

BODmembersdiscussedMCCsinvolvementwithlocalofficials.Zarinamentionedthattherewereonlytwopeople
from CAIR, sis Zarina from MMC, three people from SRVIC at Assembly woman Catherine Bakers event. Zarina
proposedthesetupofapublicrelationscommitteeatMCCwheremembersofthatcommitteewouldbeallowed
to talkto themedia on behalf ofMCCand would attend events hosted by local officials. Zarina added that ING
wouldprovidethetraining.BODtodiscussfurtherintheupcomingmeetings.

BODsavailabilityandaccessonFridays

BOD members discussed BODs availability on Fridays especially around Friday Prayers. Zarina and Amir
mentioned that security for Friday prayers needs to be improved and it would be better if both the mens and
womensentranceswerelockedduringtheprayertime.ZarinatoprepareaschedulewhereBODmemberscould
providetheiravailabilityonFridays.Thisissuewillbediscussedduringtheupcomingmeetings.

UpdateonSyrianRefugeeMove

GhassanfamilywasmovedtoanApartmentinDublin.However,theapartmentisinneedofrepairworkandhas
lotsofmold.Therewerealsocomplaintsfromtheneighborsregardingthelevelofnoisecomingfromthefamilys
apartment.ZarinainformedtheBODthattheSyrianRefugeeCommitteeisworkingtoassistthemandwillalsobe
providingfinancialsupporttothemfromtheSyrianRefugeeFund.
