Unit 11: NATIONAL PARK
Lesson A: Reading
Time: 45 minutes

I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to

- Understand and know more about some national parks in the world as
well as in Vietnam.
- Talk about national parks.
II. Language focus:
- Grammar: Gap-filling and answer the question after reading the passages.
- New words: national park, to be located, butterfly, recognize, survival, orphan,
abandon, sub-tropical, toxic, contamination.
III. Teaching methods: integrated, mainly communicative approach.
IV. Teaching aids: textbook, laptop, speakers, handouts.

Warm-up - T organizes a small game for Ss.

(5 minutes) - T divides class into 2 groups and
shows a video about the valuable
animals in the national park for Ss.
- T asks Ss to watch and remember
name of animals in the video.
- T requires Ss in each group to go to
the board and write down the answers.
Which group has more correct words
- Ss listen and follow instruction of teacher.
- Ss watch the video.
- Ss go to the board to write.
Expected answers:
- giraffe, tiger, elephant, monkey, bear,
 will be the winner. bird, lion.
- T goes around and helps if necessary.
- T asks Ss some questions:
+ Do you like these animals?
+ Where can they live together? in the
mountain or in the national park? Expected answers:
+ Yes, I like/ No, I dont like.
- T leads into the new lesson. + They live together in the national
