After receiving a tip
about the raises, the Led-
ger-Enquirer submitted an
Open Records request for
the raises. When the
newspaper submitted the
request, Hugley had an
email sent to all councilors
notifying them of the
Open Records request and
of the salary increases, of
which they had no know-
ledge.
At councils Sept. 27
meeting, in another exec-
utive session, councilors
ordered the administra-
tion to rescind the raises,
but did not order them to
take back the money al-
ready paid under them.
Councils vote today to
formally rescind the raises
and order the return of the
money was unanimous,
with all 10 councilors in
attendance.

his home, and he would
sign the divorce papers.
Thats when Whites ated as a show of aware-
ex-husband locked her in
a back room and put a
shotgun in her face.
As she tried to escape,
he stepped in front of her
and shot her close-range
in the stomach. She lay
there bleeding out until he
finally called 911.
When White arrived at
the hospital, she had lost
nearly all of her blood and
had no heartbeat. Doctors
said she had less than a 1
percent chance of survival,
and if she did survive, she
would have an extremely
low quality of life. But she
survived and moved on,
eventually finding her way
to Columbus.
White told this story
while standing on her two
feet for over 10 minutes.
As she thanked the audi-
ence for coming to support
awareness, they rose to
give her a standing ova-
tion.
The Silence Hides
Violence march, held by
Hope Harbour, has taken
place every year for the
past four years as a way of
bringing the issue of do-
mestic violence to the
forefront of the communi-
ty.

Lucy Sheftall informed
councilors that could not
be done by a motion and
has been with the organi-
zation for 10 years. She
said the march was cre-

This RFP includes General Construction
Services for Interior Alterations and
Additions to the structure. Interior Alter-

rooms into two rooms.
Additions include a Drama Classroom, an
addition to the Gym area that includes
Weight and Wrestling rooms, a new wing
to include an ROTC program, a Business
and Computer Science Multi-Use Lab,
and other classrooms.
The Construction Budget for this project
is $4,600,000.00.
