Beginning the Lesson

3 mins Provide the outline of class activities:


1. Bellwork
2. Watch a Greek myth
3. Summarizing the story
4. Acting out the story

Bellwork:
5 mins Write down a summary of a myth that you know. The story can come from anywhere in
the world. Include what you like about the story.

2 mins Ask the students about the stories that they know. Why do they find their stories
interesting. Ask at least 2 students.

5 mins Instruct the students that they will be watching the Greek story of Echo and Narcissus and
that they will summarize the story after the video. Play the video.

3-5 Summarizing the story:


mins Students will summarize the story into a paragraph. Make sure the students cover the
different characters and what did they do.

Developing the Lesson

Acting out the story:


5-7 The student and teacher will compile the answer to this discussion:

Students then will form a group with their tablemates and plan on how to act the story in

their own ways. Students are allowed to look up the story online for different versions if

Announce the students that they will be acting out their own play for the next class. They
will not be graded on content, rather more on presentation (clarity, loudness and
readiness)

Closing the Lesson

2-3 Call students to review on what they have learned.
