Vibrational Alignment Technique (VAT)

VAT is one of the latest Meridian Based Therapies (MBTs), dubbed the new power therapies,
because they achieve dramatic results in the treatment of a wide range of psychological and
emotional issues. Vibrational Alignment Technique is a simple, but powerful emotional healing
therapy which can be used for self-help, or to assist family and friends. It will help you to release
fears, anxieties and self-limiting beliefs that no longer serve you and will help to energetically align
you with positive new possibilities for your life.

VAT works directly on the acupuncture meridians, using the latest findings from the field of

which, instead of needles, uses gentle finger tapping along with powerful affirmations to alter the
subtle energies that circulate throughout the body. VAT can be used alone to treat specific
negative emotions as they arise, or as part of the Life Energy Alignment Process (LEAP) in which a
practitioner supports you in dealing with deeper issues and resonances.

VAT was co-created by Julie Henderling and Dr John Parker MD, as a result of their studies in
vibrational medicine and energy psychology and has been extensively trialled with clients with
excellent results. It provides a powerful self-help chunk from the more in-depth Life Energy
Alignment Process and is easily learned and applied by anyone.

PART 1. VAT - The Map


VAT is a powerful form of emotional acupuncture that will shift the life-depleting resonances out of
your energy field. Instead of using needles, it involves gentle finger tapping on key energy
meridian points, while repeating a series of affirmations. Below is a diagram of the VAT points you
will be tapping. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with them now. You will be gently tapping
on each point 6 - 8 times, then holding the point for one deep breath. Use two or three fingers
width, so that it is not necessary to be precise, as in acupuncture. You can tap on either side of the
body and in any order, though working from the top down helps you keep track of the process more
easily.

1. TH Top of Head (Governing Vessel 20) - centre top of skull (use whole palm to pat this point)
2. EB Eye Brow - the area where the brow ends above the nose
3. BE Beside Eye - on the side, aligned with the outside edge of the eye
4. UE Under Eye - the flat bony part directly beneath the eye
5. UN Under Nose - between the upper lip and base of the nose
6. CC Chin Crease - in the centre, on the chin crease
7. LF Little Finger - on the side next to the 4th finger, tap at the base of the nail on the cuticle
8. IF Index Finger - on the side next to the thumb, tapping at the base of the nail on the cuticle
9. KC Karate Chop Point - midway along the outside edge of the hand
10. CB Collar Bone Points - on each side, in the indentation just below each collar bone curve
(place index finger in the centre hollow, then move about 1.5 inches to each side)

PART 2. How Does Your Garden Grow?
Understanding the principles behind VAT
and how we get the lives we get

Using the analogy of life as a garden, we must first understand that we are the gardener. We have
created the life we are having, either consciously or unconsciously, through our thoughts, our
beliefs and the actions they lead us to.

Failing to tend the garden of our life - through lack of attention


or awareness - is how we create by default.
It gets us a garden that is overflowing with weeds, sometimes choking on weeds, out-of-control and
very unpleasant - a life that is simply not working well for us. The weeds in our garden start out
small - small relationship struggles, niggling health problems or vague dissatisfaction at work - but
if left unattended, they can grow so large that they overtake our lives - in the form of illness,
relationship breakdowns, addictions, depression, anxiety or facing financial crisis.

Actively managing our lifes garden, through awareness, attention


and intention, is deliberate creation.
It gets us a garden that is beautiful, flowing, enjoyable and peaceful. It gets us a life that is
beautiful, flowing, enjoyable and peaceful. It aligns us with peaceful daily living, deep enjoyment of
life, nourishing relationships, good health and spending our days in meaningful work that we love.

It is not so difficult to learn how to maintain a magnificent garden,


once we understand that we are the gardener.
One of the biggest blocks to healing and positive change is the desire to blame someone else for
the state of our own garden. Until we are willing to take responsibility for our lives, we cannot
improve them. Once we are willing, there are some powerful ways - using simple energy
techniques - to repair our garden so we are able to watch it thrive and grow more beautiful each
day.

Identifying the weeds is the first step.


Vibrational Alignment Technique can effectively remove even deep rooted of weeds, making way
for the flowers you want to plant and enjoy. Many people have tried traditional goal setting and
affirmations with little result, but how can we plant a new garden if we do not first remove the
weeds and debris of the old? How can we operate and act from new beliefs, if we are still
energetically aligned with the old ones? If you want to know what you are currently energetically
aligned with, just look at your life. If you have something in your life that you do not want, it is
because you are still in energetic alignment with it. If you dont have something you do want, it is
because you are not yet in alignment with it. VAT is a powerful gardening tool, which works
directly on the energy system to change what you are aligned with and create a different garden.

We all have past experiences and memories that are still resonating
with us.
These past events keep affecting our present lives in some way, operating in our energy field like
a blinking neon, communicating messages about who we are, what we believe and what we expect
to others. Some of these are positive, life-enhancing resonances (e.g. I am successful at
anything I try or I am attractive) and they magnetize to us people, situations and events which
are positive. Some however, are negative, life-depleting resonances (e.g. I always fail or No one
would ever find me attractive) which also magnetize to us people, situations and events which are
a vibrational match.

This Law of Attraction is based in quantum physics and even without


understanding the scientific theory, we have all witnessed this very
real phenomena in everyday life.
Most of us have at some time observed (or even worn!) the desperate, needy person neon sign
flashing in singles bars . . . and seen how this neon only serves to repel rather than attract. We
have all seen how a confident and enthusiastic neon gets people results, opportunities and
promotions. We all know people who wear the life is hard and must be endured neon and we
see them having hard lives, while others wear the life is good and it is meant to be enjoyed neon
and we see them having a generally easy, enjoyable time of life. Most of us have read the studies
about victims of crime having one common denominator - fear of crime blinking in their neon. We
have all read the startling statistics on lotto winners who manage to lose their vast winnings -
because I am destined to be poor is blinking so strongly in their neon, it is what they know, it feels
like home and they somehow manage to sabotage even the biggest windfalls. Law of Attraction is
at work everywhere!

Even if we are not aware of the scientific basis of it, most of us are
able to read a persons energy or pick up on a vibration in a
room. What is happening here is that our energy field (electro-magnetic or morphogenic field) is
interacting and interpreting the fields of people and places we come into contact with. By learning
to keep our own energy at a high vibration, with positive, life-enhancing neons blinking, we
magnetize to us positive people, experiences and events. VAT is just one of the new power
therapies to come out of the rapidly emerging fields of Energy Psychology, Vibrational Medicine
and the Energy Sciences - all of which work within the energy model.

PART 3.
What Weeds do You Want TO Remove?
First we need to identify the weed. Is it a negative emotion or a negative belief you want to
remove or a bigger issue you want to work with.

Any time you feel emotional pain or discomfort, you have an opportunity to remove a weed.
Remember the Law of Attraction - if you are feeling fear, you will attract people, events and
situations which match how you feel, so five minutes of VAT to shift the fear vibration is time well
spent!

There is a reason for the painful emotion - it has a message for you! In fact, it is helpful to see any
emotional pain or discomfort, however mild, as your systems way of alerting you to a weed that is
potentially dangerous to your garden. Your system is saying be careful what you are creating
right now!

We can use our negative, painful or uncomfortable emotions as a warning sign and an opportunity
to manage our energy vibration. Painful feelings are a clear sign that your vibration has dropped to
a lower, less-coherent frequency. VAT is a quick and effective way to restore yourself to a higher
vibration. The more we experience the high vibration states (deep peace, love, trust, non-
attachment, acceptance, pleasure etc.) the more we magnetise these onto our experience.
Clearly, a tool for managing our vibration has powerful applications in our lives!

3/ A. How to Remove a Negative Emotion with VAT:


What is the negative emotion you are experiencing?

The appendix A list of Low Vibration Emotional States can be used as a guide to help you
identify the exact emotion/s which need to be shifted. The more accurately you identify the feeling,
the better the results. For example, what you may at first identify as feeling unappreciated may in
fact be feeling invalidated. Your inner guidance system knows the answer, so close your eyes
and breathe until you get clear on the exact emotion.

Optional Step:
Emotional Intensity Meter (EIM): If you want to get a good subjective
indication of the effectiveness of the session, begin by closing your eyes and
imagining a thermometer running up your spine. If 10 is a high emotional
intensity (feeling strongly, upset, distressed, a strong emotional charge) and 1
is a low emotional intensity (only mild, low emotional charge) what would your
current level be? Write down this number now.

Begin Vibrational Alignment Technique Now . . .

Now that you have clearly identified the negative feeling you want to remove, begin patting firmly
on the Top of The Head (TH) point with your palm (this is the powerful Governing Vessel 20) while
repeating the following statements:

Its only natural that I have this (say the feeling) but I am ready to let it go now.

I deserve to be free of this (say the feeling) and I am ready to let it go now

There is no good reason for me to keep this (say the feeling) and I am ready to let it go now

Now continue with your tapping using two or three fingers (6-8 times) on the rest of the VAT points
(in order from the top down is recommended but only so you can keep track) while repeating the
statement:
I am now releasing this (say the feeling).

TIP: To make the process even more effective - after each point has been tapped, pause and
hold the point then take a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Then
continue on to the next point.

Unlike traditional affirmations, we actually want to focus on the negative feeling for the duration of
the tapping, in order to pull it up and out of the energy system. If you become upset or feel a brief
intensifying of the feeling, this is a sign that VAT is working on a deep level. If you become
distracted at some point and no longer feel any emotional charge it is a sign that the vibrational
shift has already occurred, but tap on the remaining points anyway for good measure.

Emotional Intensity Meter (EIM): If you did so at the start, you can now
recheck your Emotional Intensity Meter. If the intensity has not come
down to a low number or zero, you may need to do one more round, or
identify another closely related emotion that is still resonating and then tap
for that feeling. Often there are a number of emotions at work together
and each must be pulled as a separate weed.

NOTE: You can greatly enhance this session now by going to section 4/A to plant a positive
emotion in place of the negative one you have removed.

First identify the self-limiting belief that you want to be rid of. You can see what beliefs you are
currently resonating with just by looking at your life. For example if you continually experience
failure, you will be resonating the belief that you are a failure. It is not truth, only a belief, one
which in this case is life-depleting, and is currently attracting the vibrational match of failures into
your experience.

Our belief systems play an enormous role in the outcomes we experience in our lives. We think
and act based on these deep held beliefs and they become our present reality. Many of the beliefs
we habitually rely on are life-depleting and self-limiting. They are often not even beliefs we have
chosen and considered for ourselves, many of them having been handed down to us by well
meaning parents, teachers and people in our lives.

It is time to begin to challenge the validity of our beliefs. Are they based in a deep truth or are they
merely perceptions we have developed or the ideas and beliefs of others that we have accepted as
our own? What beliefs no longer serve you? What beliefs are holding you back or limiting your life
in some way? What are you ready to leave behind now?

Your inner guidance system knows what it is ready to shift, so close your eyes and breathe until
you get a clear answer. The appendix B list of Life Depleting Beliefs can be used as a guide to
help you come up with the negative belief which needs to be shifted.

3 / C. How to work with deeper issues and blocks
For deeper life issues and long term emotional blocks, the help of a trained LEAP practitioner or
Meridian Based Therapies practitioner is strongly recommended. When patterns run deep or have
plagued us for a long time, it can be difficult for us to identify exactly what we should be tapping
for.

Some weeds in our garden are part of a larger clump or family of weeds for which the roots run
deep and can be tenacious. In Meridian Based Therapies, these are known as aspects or
layers and it is necessary to identify the nuances of the issue in order to release all of the
aspects. If you are working on bigger issues which represent patterns you have experienced
throughout your life, it is vital that you persist with the tapping and work with as many possible
aspects of the issue as possible. Above all, be patient. The more of this work you do, the more
you are moving towards a higher vibration. Changes can be subtle and gradual in this ongoing
process of managing your vibration.

Spend some time exploring the issue by writing in a journal to get a clearer idea of what you want
to release and to gain insight into the layers involved. Do not rush the process. Allow the answers
you need to arise from within the inner wisdom of your system. They are there - if only we learn to
listen. If upsetting memories arise, do not resist them, just breathe into them and use VAT to allow
them to leave your energy field.

The skills and support of a practitioner can dramatically enhance your results because they know
how to identify the deeper aspects. They also provide much needed support , comfort and
guidance as you begin to release the old patterns that no longer serve you.

PART 4.
What are the Flowers You Want to Plant?

Now it is time to identify the flowers to plant, or positive outcomes and experiences you do want in
your life. Is it a positive emotion or a positive belief or a bigger set of goals and intentions you
want to plant in the garden now?

Any time you feel good or positive, any time you give thought and attention to the things you
desire, you have an opportunity to plant a flower and use a few minutes of VAT to align yourself
energetically with that desire!

identify the exact emotion/s which you are ready to integrate. The more accurately you identify the
feeling or state of being you want, the better the results.

imagining a thermometer running up your spine. If 10 is a high emotional
intensity (in this case feeling the positive emotion strongly) and 1 is a low

intellectual understanding in the world does little if your energy neon sign is radiating something
else entirely. By focusing on the positive feeling while tapping, you literally install or plant it in
the energy system.

recheck your Emotional Intensity Meter. If the intensity has not gone up
to a high number, you may need to do one more round, or identify another
closely related positive emotion that is needed and then tap for that
feeling. Often there are a number of emotions at work together and each
must be planted as a separate flower.

What is the positive belief you are ready to align with? Our beliefs have a direct effect on what we
are expereincing in our lives. They affect our thoughts, our actions and our expectations. They
literally become a self-fulfilling prophecy. We can choose to see the glass as half empty or half full.
We can choose to think negatively about the world or see it in a positive light. We can choose
beliefs which enhance and support our well-being and then aligning ourselves energetically with
them using VAT.

The appendix D list of Life Enhancing Beliefs can be used as a guide to help you identify the
exact belief you want to install. Use one from the list if it feels right or come up with your own.

How to create a beautiful garden and live a life you love

This is the truly exciting part of VAT - energetically aligning our lives with our highest intentions for
ourselves. This is deliberate creation backed by powerful energy shifts towards what is life-
enhancing.

To create a beautiful garden we must first be able to imagine it in detail, and have our imaginings
fired up by powerful desire and powerful emotion. Since what we focus on expands, we encourage
you to spend time each day attuning to what you do want in your life, setting intentions and giving
attention to this blossoming new garden. Where thought goes, energy flows, so spend time
planning, dreaming, imagining and intending, followed by powerful affirmations and meridian
tapping. You will soon see things shift in your life as you become a magnet to your own intentions
and desires.

Spend some time journalling on your desires and intentions. You can check your Emotional
Intensity Meter (EIM) early on if you wish to see how strongly you believe yoy can experience
these outcomes (the EIM will usually start low but end the session on a high number!). Do not rush
the process. Allow the answers you need to arise from within the inherent wisdom of your system.
After you have contemplated and written down your intentions and aspirations, use VAT to install
them in your energy field. By setting powerful intentions for your life, then planting them in your
energy system, you can expect to see gradual but often extraordinary changes in your life!

Once again, do not underestimate the value of a practitioner, mentor, coach or guide to enhance

5. Frequently asked Questions on VAT


Is it necessary that I understand VAT to get results?
No. Just like driving a car, you only need to know how to drive it, not all the intricacies of how it
actually works . . and the best way to tell if a car works by the result . . it gets you from A - B! This
means that you do not need to learn, study and understand the entire energy meridian system -
you only need follow the map and the simple steps in this e-book to get excellent results.

Is it necessary that I believe in VAT to get results?


Not at all. VAT bypasses the mental traffic of the mind and intellect and goes directly to the source
of the problem, by addressing the energy system directly, regardless of whether the client believes
in it or not. Meridian Based Therapies such as VAT, EFT and the many cousins of these
therapies have documented extremely high rates of success, even if the client has no expectation
of success or understanding or belief in the energy model. The actual experience speaks for itself!

Do I need to be accurate with the points I am tapping?


No. It is possible to identify the exact meridian points using a device called a SearchnStim, and to
emit an electrical impulse into the point. However, most people do not have access to such
devices, and this is why we recommend using several fingers . . so that you will reach the point by
covering the whole area. Finger tapping has been shown time and again to be just as effective as
any of the sophisticated, and often expensive devices available.

Can I change the affirmations used during tapping?


Yes. The wording does not have to be exact and if there is a more natural way for you to say it,
then use your own turn of phrase. In general, the first and last rounds (TH and KC / CB) should
stay much as they are written, but tapping on all the points in between can be done in whatever
wording you are most comfortable with.

Can I use VAT to help my family without having had any


professional training?
Absolutely. We encourage you to share this information with others. You can email the link
www.lifeenergyalignment.com to friends and famliy and they can download this e-book and begin
working with VAT. They will be able to achieve results on their own, or if there are deeper issues
needing work they may be drawn to the help of a practitioner. You can certainly do no harm with
VAT as it is completely free of side effects. Just be aware that unsolicited help may not be met
as enthusiastically as you might hope. If someone is ready for this type of work they will naturally
be attracted to it. Ultimately the best way you can positively influence others is to live the
example by using VAT actively to make positive changes in your own life.

You have also learned how to align yourself with positive, life-enhancing emotions and beliefs and
to explore new intentions and goals that you want to magnetize into your experience.

There is much you can do with what you have learned. You can use VAT whenever you are
stressed, challenged or upset, to return yourself to a higher vibration (of peace, acceptance, love).
You can use it every morning to set intentions for the day and align yourself with them. You can
use it at bedtime to give yourself deeper and more peaceful sleep free of the negative vibrations
and stresses of the day. You can use it to build your self esteem, to boost your performance on
the job, in sport and even public speaking, to overcome nerves and anxiety in many situations and
to improve your overall quality of life.

Releasing Phobias with VAT

Vibrational Alignment Technique is an extremely powerful and fast acting therapy for treating phobias. In
many cases, lifelong and crippling phobias are able to be released in just a few sessions. A phobia is a
fear so intense and irrational that it is paralyzing. Symptoms for the sufferer can be extreme and
debilitating. Phobias are good examples of how an old energy resonance, often from long ago, can
continue to affect our lives in the present. Sometimes it is a long ago event that we do not even
remember now, which triggered a disruption in the energy system and continues to paralyze us with fear
when the object of our fear is facing us. Since phobias can be self-treated with great results, using
Meridian Based Therapies like VAT, here are some tips to follow.

I have used my own real life example of a snake phobia which I was able to release completely in under an
hour. In fact, this was the beginning of my journey into using and now teaching Meridian Therapies. I was
astonished at the results, and I will admit, frustrated that I had suffered for so long when such a simple and
powerful solution existed. My family and friends, who have all had to endure my intense and distressing
phobic reactions, were all equally amazed.

If you know anyone with a phobia please share this article and help them put an end to unnecessary
suffering!

1. Begin the session with some objective means of measuring the


session progress as well as the Emotional Intensity Meter.

In my own case, I was unable to even look at a picture book on snakes without tears, convulsions
and abject terror. My EIM was a full blown 10 at the mere thought of looking these book snakes
in the eye! The book became my first objective test.

2. Use the list of Low Vibration Feeling States to isolate ALL related
emotions.

It is necessary to find each aspect or nuance of the phobia and tap for it separately. In my case
there were 8 separate rounds to tap for including fear of snakes, fear of moving snakes (the way
they move carried its own particular terror), terror of snakes (slightly different resonance to fear),
repulsion of snakes, dislike of snakes, distrust of snakes, shock of seeing a snake suddenly and
vulnerability to snakes.

3. Tap for any specific events or memories.


In my case there were several bad experiences as a child which have remained stored in my
energy system, some with live snakes (unexpected visitors to tree houses and cubbys) and
some were to do with a catholic upbringing in which Mary statues always had serpents at the feet,
and in which the serpent represented evil. The final area I tapped for was the belief that snakes
are evil and my EIM came down to almost zero emotional charge.

4. Use the objective test at each step of the way to see if there is
something more to be uncovered and released
Even as the EIM began to come down, I knew there was more still to be shifted based on my
readiness to look at the book itself. In under an hour of tapping I was looking at the book with NO
EMOTIONAL CHARGE, kids and partner watching on in amazement (at Mums party trick . . . yes,
they have seen firsthand how crippling my phobia was!)

5. Continue to expand your tests, being ready to tap for any new
aspect which may present itself.

In my case, I have since moved to the country (previously unthinkable!) and had many more
opportunities to test my results, encountering many live snakes in our own garden. Even after so
long, I have to marvel at the complete lack of emotional charge I feel . . . nothing more than a
healthy desire to keep away. No more instant tears, screaming, sprinting or worse fainting!! I have
not even needed ANY MORE TAPPING since that first session. I now have a normal, healthy
caution around snakes - nothing more! If I wanted to cuddle a snake or have one as a pet, I would
certainly need to do some more tapping . . . but the outcome we want is something that works in
our lives, and being able to see a snake up close without panic and then calmly steer clear of it . .
. . . . well I can live with that!

If you are still unable to free yourself of a phobia, please seek a practitioners support, as this is very
achievable, using VAT and LEAP!
