College is pleased to announce to recruit personnel for the newly established HDSS

(health and demographic surveillance site) which is settled at Worabe. Based on the
mentioned positions and qualifications applicants are encouraged to apply starting from
the date of announcement.
1. Administrator
Proven experience as an administrator, office assistant or relevant role
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software (ERP etc.)
Qualifications in secretarial studies will be an advantage
BSc/BA in office administration or relevant field is preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to HDSS
policies
Supervise administrative staff and divide responsibilities to ensure performance
Manage agendas/travel arrangements/appointments etc. for the upper management
Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages etc.)
Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary
Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
Assist colleagues whenever necessary
2. Data Manager
The coordinator should have a minimum of BSC degree or above in the field of
Computer science or related discipline.
Proven experience as data manager
Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection,
analysis, distribution etc.)
Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Duties and responsibilities:
Creating and enforcing policies for effective data management
Formulating techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and
legitimacy of data
Devising and implementing efficient and secure procedures for data handling and
analysis with attention to all technical aspects
Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management and external
stakeholders etc.
Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal
standards
Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to
discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data
lasses
Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications
3. IT Manager
Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer
hardware/software systems
Expertise in data centre management and data governance
Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network
installation
Ability to manage personnel
BSC in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
Duties and responsibilities:
Managing information technology and computer systems
Controlling and evaluating IT and electronic data operations
Managing IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job
expectations and appraising their performance
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to
organizational policy
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
Audit systems and assess their outcomes
Preserve assets, information security and control structures
Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
4. Data Editor
Proven experience as data entry clerk
Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel
etc.)
Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
Basic understanding of databases
Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
Great attention to detail
Diploma or above in computer science or relevant fields
Duties and responsibilities:
Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using
keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
Type in data provided directly from customers
Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
Verify data by comparing it to source documents
Update existing data
Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
5. Secretary
Should be computer literate having at least diploma/certificate in secretarial science
Duties and responsibilities:
Prepare financial summary;
Monitor financial expenditure of the project;
Prepares payment forms;
Engage in secretarial and other office works;
Monitor administrative business of the project;
Maintain research centers archive
6. Data Clerk
Should be computer literate having a minimum grade of 10
Duties and responsibilities:
Work at the field project coordinating office;
Check completeness of data;
Enter data to computer generated from the field, and submitted by the field
coordinator/supervisor to the office;
Give feed back to the coordinator about the data
7. Field coordinator
There may be more than one field coordinating office and coordinator as necessary.
Should have minimum of diploma in health and health related disciplines/social sciences
Preferable if knows local language
Duties and responsibilities:
Has the responsibility of coordinating/ administering the activities in the field;
Expected to help researchers visiting the field
Supervise the activities of field supervisors and enumerators;
Accountable to the WHDSSC coordinator.
8. Field Supervisor
Preferable if he/she have previous work experience related to supervision/data
collection
Able to read and write English, Amharic, Siliti languages
Duties and responsibilities:
Accountable to the field coordinator/project coordinator;
Supervises enumerators;
Makes a tour in villages of field project site to cross check data collected by
enumerators;
Monthly submits the data to the data clerk/field coordinator;
Give necessary feedback to enumerators.
