High Voltage Instrument Transformers

The following HV Instrument Transformers are used for metering,
relaying or control on high voltage circuits. These products are
intended for pedestal mounting in substations to allow safety
clearances. All transformers are hermetically sealed and equipped with
NEMA 4 hole primary terminals and NEMA 2 hole ground pad. NEMA-
3R low voltage boxes are supplied over the LV terminals, with conduit
openings on the lower tank of the transformer.
Primary insulators with cemented flanges may be offered in either ANSI
70 gray porcelain or silicone rubber polymer design. Metallic housings
have corrosion resistant painted polyester steel tanks and domes, or
galvanized steel tanks with aluminum domes. An oil level gauge and
pressure relief valve are provided on the dome. Mild steel designs can
be provided with optional stainless steel housings. All units are tested
per IEEE C57.13 and are supplied with certified test reports.

Units shown are rated -40 to +40 C amb, -50 C is an option.

15kV-38kV / 110-200kV BIL dielectric levels available. 0.3%ZZ
accuracy on 2 secondaries and 5000VA thermal rating.
Line to ground (single bushing) or line to line (two bushing design) for
pole or platform mounting for metering and relaying.

VT-Type POF Substation Class oil-filled inductive voltage transformer
with shield graded insulation. High creep and high strike
reliable cycloaliphatic epoxy bushing at 69kV and lower,
porcelain at 115kV (with polymer available as an option).
25kV-115kV / 150kV-550kV BIL dielectric levels available. 0.3%ZZ
accuracy on 2 secondaries and up to 7500VA thermal rating.
Line to ground (one bushing) or line to line (two bushing design
available 69kV and lower) for metering and relaying.

VT- Type UT Substation Class oil-filled inductive voltage transformer
with shield graded insulation. High creep and high strike
reliable porcelain (polymer available) insulators.
138kV-525kV / 650kV-1550kV BIL dielectric levels available. 0.3%ZZ
accuracy on 2 or 3 secondaries and up to 5000VA Thermal.
Line to ground applied single bushing design for metering and
relaying.

CVT- Type D Substation Class oil-filled capacitive voltage transformer
with capacitive divider for isolation from the high voltage
circuit. Units supplied in porcelain insulators (polymer as
an option) with hermetically sealed capactitor stacks.
69kV-525kV / 350kV-1550kV BIL dielectric levels available. 0.3%Z
accuracy on 2 or 3 secondaries and up to1200VA thermal rating.
Line to ground applied single bushing design for voltage
measurement or carrier communication.

Station Service VT- Substation Class oil-filled station service voltage
Type SSVT transformer with high creep and high strike reliable
porcelain insulators (polymer available). Power windings
with HV transformer design with graded insulation and
ground shield between HV and LV circuit.
46kV-345kV / 250kV-1300kV BIL dielectric levels available. Power
ratings of 25kVA, 50kVA, 100kVA, or 167kVA (333kVA at some
voltage levels).
120/240VAC power output offered with optional voltage measuring
windings for station service control power or rural electrification.

Station Service VT- Substation class oil-filled station service voltage
Type SSMV transformer with medium voltage secondary, high creep
and high strike porcelain insulators (polymer available).
Power windings with HV graded insulation and ground
shield between HV and LV windings.
46kV-170 kV / 250KV -750kV BIL dielectric levels, 50/60 HZ available
Power ratings of 100 KVA , 125KVA, 167KVA and 200KVA at 7200V
/ 6600V.
Measuring windings not offered in this class.

CT-Type SCOF Distribution Class oil-filled current transformer with
compact form and robust performance expected in larger
units. Two high creep and high strike porcelain bushings.
15kV-38kV / 110kV-200kV BIL dielectric levels available. 0.3B1.8 or
up to C800 accuracy for one or two secondary core/coils.
Maximum primary current 1200A rating. Ratios from 5:5 to 1200:5.
75X short-circuit rating for metering or relaying on pole or platform
mounting.

CT- Type COF Substation Class oil-filled top core current transformer for
metering or relaying application. Porcelain insulator with
high creep and high strike design (polymer as an option).
25kV-161kV / 150kV-750kV BIL dielectric levels available. , 0.3B1.8
or up to C800 accuracy for up to three secondary core/coils.
Maximum primary current 3200A rating. Ratios from 5:5 to 3000:5.
150X short-circuit rating available for metering or relaying.

metering transformer with compact format. CT windings
combined with VT windings for metering for pole top or
platform mounting in substation.
CT/VT-Type JXM Distribution Class oil-filled high accuracy wide
measurement range current/voltage combined metering
transformer with compact format. Special core/coil design
capable of measuring accurately over a wide current
swing.
CT/VT-Type MVCT Distribution Class three phase oil-filled current/voltage
combined metering transformer with compact format.
CT windings combined with VT windings for three phase
metering.
CT/VT-Type MXM Distribution Class three phase oil-filled high accuracy wide
measurement range current/voltage combined metering
transformer with compact format. Special core/coil design
capable of measuring accurately over a wide current

CT/VT-Type KA Substation Class oil-filled current/voltage combined
metering transformer for space savings. CT windings
combined with VT windings for metering for platform
mounting in substation.
CT/VT-Type KXM Substation Class oil-filled high accuracy wide
measurement range current/voltage combined metering
transformer for space savings. Special design capable of
metering accurately over wide current swing.
