Cables for mining and excavation
Cables for mining and excavation are intended for connection of the different movable machines and
mechanismes, mining electrical equipment and instruments to the electrical circuits at the rated voltage
660V, 1140V or 6000V of the AC with frequency 50Hz on the motherlodes and up to 380V on the
additional conductors. The cables are used in coal, mining, salt and shale mines and also at the
diggings (open-pits).
The structural features of the cables permit to operate them at hard conditions, e.g.: prolonged
presence of the water and moisture condensation, frequent transfer and winding of the cable, influence
of stretching and crushing forces, oils, petrol and hostile environments. The electroconductive shields
in the structure of the mining cables guarantee the turning off of the power-supply system at damage
of the cable insulation and thereby they prevent the possible short circuit and exposure of the ore
methane.
