 Two-stroke MC Engines

Course description
The main objective of the training course is to cover the
whole range of the MAN B&W MC and MC-C engines. We
aim to give a clear overview of the conventional engines as
well as explaining details of design, operational functions and
maintenance. Throughout the course, the instructors from
the MAN Diesel PrimeServ Academy will be using service ex-

perience to illustrate problems and solutions. We take a prac-
tical approach without being an actual interactive course. For
Copenhagen courses only, there will be a tour of the work-
shop, test engine and the experience centre DieselHouse.
General knowledge of two-stroke engines is an advantage
for the participants.

Course description
This training course covers the new MAN B&W electronically
controlled small bore engine with camshaft operated exhaust
valves the ME-B engine. The course concentrates on the
electronic and hydraulic control systems. The only mechani-
cal/structural parts covered are those different from the well-
known MC engine, e.g. the camshaft and the fuel oil pressure
booster. Other mechanical/structural parts such as bedplate,
frame box, crankshaft and combustion chamber parts are
not covered as these parts are identical to the MC engine,
and therefore covered in our general MC engine
training course.
The ME-B engine training course is an interactive course,

Our in-house seminars aim at giving a clear overview of the
engine and, where applied, their attached systems. Through-
out explaining details of design and operational functions by
means of presentations as well as simulations, we offer real
hands-on maintenance on our training models, engines
and simulators.
On-site / on-board seminar
With our on-site / on-board seminars we share know-how,
as we pass on information on engines as well as attached
systems. These seminars are tailor-made to familiarize on-site
or on-board staff with their equipment by means of theoreti-
cal as well as hands-on seminars in operational functions

Course pricing structure
All standard scheduled courses cost from 1,000 (EUR 1435)
per person per week (min. two delegates).
Customer-specific courses will be charged at the
following rates:
4 delegates or more at 1,000 per person per week
3 delegates at 1,200 per person per week
2 delegates at 1,350 per person per week
1 delegate at 1,500 per week
All factory courses and On-Site courses in the UK
require payment of VAT at 17.5%.
MAN Diesel
All On-Site courses at the customers site cost 4,500 per
five-day week for a maximum of 10 delegates, plus expenses.
