Led our weekly tumor board.
Met with QI every week going over missed diagnosis in our urgent care
Prepared Oncology Dept. for JACHO and DHS surveys and inspections.
Specific managerial duties included:
o Assure that our 14 day policy for a new cancer consult to be seen
was upheld (reduce wait time to 3-5 days).
o Arranged stat brain radiation as needed in local hospitals
contracted with Kaiser.
o Assure that all abnormal labs were taken care off and if
necessary patient got apt. for infusion.
o Ordered diagnostic test for non-Kaiser Doctors thru EMR system
EPIC Healthconnect.
o Made presentations for our providers on oncology emergencies
like ITP, SIADH, Hyperkalemia, Superior Vena Cava syndrome,
Shock, etc.
o Responsible for implementation of all new safety protocols.
o Oversaw Oncology drugs budget with Pharmacist and RN
supervisor of the chemo infusion department and presented
budget to clinical director yearly.
