3.1: Orbital location:
Arial shall be located in the polar lunar orbit 1100km above the Luna’s surface. The orbit has the following features:

TABLE 3.1.2 JUSTIFICATION OF SELECTED LOCATION

TABLE 3.1.1 ORBITAL DETAILS
Stability The elliptical orbit of Arial rules out the possibility of Earth’s dominance. The
Radius 1100 km altitudes below 1200km makes it difficult for Earth to disturb orbit of the
settlement.

period Close proximity from Placement of the settlement at an altitude of 1100km shall provide easy
the sources of access to lunar resources. Several extraction techniques and plants shall be

Orbital speed 17.8 km/s Possibility of eclipse Arial shall not come in the shadow of the moon but shadow of the Earth
effects it once in 28 days for 24 hours.
circumference 17822km
Other assets Apart for providing stability, a polar orbit shall reduce he time period of an
Inclination 86 degrees eclipse. Also minimum energy for the spaceships shall make it easy for them
to dock.

3.1.3 Calculations:
According to the theory of gravitation

L4
Orbital velocity= (GM/r + h)½ (i)
Where,
G= 6.67x 10^-11Nm^2/kg^2
M(mass of Luna)=7.35x10^22 kg SUN
Therefore, by substituting its value in (i) EARTH
moon

We get, orbital velocity= 17.8 km/s

Velocity= Circumference of orbit/total time taken
Where,
Circumference=2x3.14x(1100+1738)= 17822km
Therefore, time taken=3.0 days

TABLE 3.2.1 FOOD PRODUCTION

Growing The food shall be grown by using BHAS (Bernoulli hydroponics and aeroponics systems). This method not only increases the
yield but also reduces the area and water consumed. In this method, the plants not only pull water through capillarity but are
artificially made to do so in a shorter period of time. The pressure shall be lowered by using air suckers and velocity of water
increases.
Harvesting AGRICULTURE Robot shall monitor the harvesting of the crops. A round of human examination shall ensure the prevention of
malfunctioning of BHAS.
Packaging HCVP(high capacity vacuum packs) shall be used for the storage of crops and different food items.
Delivering Delivery by PSP(Pascal split pipeline) system shall be done so as to generate pressure for faster delivery. This systems shall
function between the production units and retail markets via underground. Since pressure at both ends shall be uniform
(Pascal’s law) so no damage to the food is possible.
Selling Selling shall directly be done in the markets to which the people have full access.
3.2.1.2 Food storage
The storage of food shall be divided into 2 categories:
1.Provisionong storage:Since the food shall be consumed on a continuous basis, the processing and production units shall be used for its11storage.
2.Emergency storage:Warehouses shall be used for emergency of food. Refrigerated sections shall provide longer life to the products.
