A goal of the Course Project is for you to apply what you learn in a manageable
and collaborative way. As such, the Course Project is divided into three
stages, with Peer Critique incorporated at each stage. This is also the
opportunity to apply the research and writing skills that are the foundation of
a scholar-practitioner and communication professional.
As you work through this course, you learn a number of theories that are
relevant to communication practice. It is natural for you to wonder what you
would do with this theoretical knowledge. For this weeks stage of the
Course Project, you examine the applications of theories covered in this
course to the scenario or situation you selected in Week 3s Course Project
Stage 1.
The key purpose of this stage of the Course Project is to explore the application
of theories covered in this course to the scenario you selected in Stage 1.
Previously, you described the problem and scenario you selected for your
Course Project. Now, you apply a theory or theories covered in this course
to address the scenario and problem you chose.
Submit and post to the Discussion Board for Peer Critique by Day 4 a 500- to
700-word (approximately 1.52 pages) paper that addresses the following:
Describe the key players in the scenario and their contribution to the
problem(s) in the scenario. How do their approaches and/or
communication styles impact the situation? What does the theory reveal
or indicate about their contributions to the problem?
Explain the approach and solutions the theory yields for your scenario.
Based on the theory, what steps should be taken by who and why?
