The Reverend Gary A Marshall

Pastor Marshall grew up in Orlando and attended local schools, including


Edgewater High School, where he played football. In his senior year, his family
moved to Tucson, AZ. He graduated from Catalina High School in 1958 and
attended Arizona State prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. Following his
honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to his home town in Florida where
he accepted a position with the United States Postal Service.

He married Karen Ann Powe on April 3, 1970, joined the Episcopal Church
and became a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Orlando. Soon
thereafter he became very involved in the church and served in many capacities as
a layman, including usher, Sunday school teacher, chapter member, junior warden,
acolyte, acolyte warden, youth minister, evangelism committee, and new comer
committee. On a Diocesan level, he was Evangelism Commission Chairman,
Acolyte Warden, Coalition for the Homeless, Co-Founder & Chairman of the South
Seminole County Christian Sharing Center, Graduate of the Institute for Christion
Studies (Seminary), and wrote the book Welcome the Newcomer

Hearing the call to the ordained ministry, he was ordained Deacon on


Ascension Day, 1982 at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke. As a Deacon, he taught
confirmation classes, preached, assisted at the Eucharist, served as Youth Minister,
did counseling, and worked for 4 years at Christian Prison Ministries

In 1997 he was ordained Priest in the Anglican Church of America at the


Church of the Incarnation in Orlando. He became the Canon to the Ordinary,
Administrator to the Postulants, Member of the Standing Committee, and continued
his youth ministry. In 2004, he was called to be Priest-in-charge at St. Peters
Anglican Church in Waynesville, NC. He was then called as Rector of All Saints
Anglican Church in Palatka, Florida from 2011 2012, and then retired to Mount
Dora.

He and his wife Karen have one son, Lt. Col Sean Marshall, and two
grandchildren, Kevin and Samantha.
They feel blessed to be healthy, happy and living in beautiful Lake County.
