Learning Styles
Learning styles are the different ways that people
process information while they learn. Everyone
uses many different learning styles, but most
people have a favorite that they use more often
than others. The three most common learning
styles are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

Visual learners like to see what they are learning.

These people like colorful presentations and often
take careful notes. Being in an organized and quiet
classroom is important to visual learners. Sometimes
its difficult for them to concentrate when other
students are moving around the classroom.

Auditory learners are students who learn best

when they listen. These learners dont need to see
the teacher they just need to hear him or her.
Auditory learners might read assignments out loud
to help them remember the material. There are
many people who like this style of learning. They
usually arent afraid to speak out in class.

Touching things or moving around a classroom

is best for kinesthetic learners. These learners
often move their hands a lot when they speak.
These learners enjoy going on field trips and
doing experiments. Kinesthetic learners might be
uncomfortable in a classroom that doesnt have
hands-on learning situations.

Most people use all of these learning styles every

day, but they usually favor one style more than the
others. Which learning style do you favor?
