THE ESSENTIAL QUESTION: What characteristics do each month of the year have?
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The students will brainstorm ideas as a class and identify characteristics and
facts about each month. Through individual and group research, they will select a month to report on.
Students should gain knowledge about the season of year, weather, holidays and other important
information about their month.
LEARNING/INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will identify the twelve months of the year
2. The class will brainstorm characteristics of each month
3. Students will work in small groups of 2-3 students to research a season
4. Each group will present their research to the class displaying the poster board with facts and
pictures
MATERIALS/RESOURCES
Poster board, markers, crayons, scissors, glue, colored construction paper
