    4 nesoLuTion Ne. /'/ of2014 Moved by: A Resolution requesting the Harrisburg Planning Commission initiate preparation of @ (Comprehensive Plan forthe City of Harrisburg, WHEREAS, the City of Harrisburg has not had a current comprehensive plan for its development and growth for several years and WHEREAS, itis prudent for a municipality to have @ comprehensive plan setting forth its objectives as to development, land use, housing, community f ies and utilities, as well as ‘many other strategies that would increase the viability ofthe municipality; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planing Code at $3 PS. § 10208.1(0)(1, “the planning agency shall atthe request of the governing body have the power and shall be required to: (I) Prepare the comprehensive plan for the development of the ‘municipality asset fort in this at, and presenti forthe consideration of the governing body” and WHEREAS, under the City of Harrisburg's governmental structure, City Council isthe goveming body and pursuant to Chapter 7-101, Section 7-101.3, ofthe Codified Ordinances of the City of Harrisburg, the Harrisburg “Planning Commission shall exercise all powers and
