To Whom It May Concern:

I have known Laura Lopez for the past year, having served as her School Counselor at
The School of Science and Technology at the San Diego High School Educational
Complex.

While a student at The School of Science and Technology, Laura has always
challenged herself academically. Throughout High School she has taken Advanced
Placement courses and is currently enrolled in five Advance Placement courses. At the
time of this letter she has a 4.18 GPA and is ranked number two in her senior class of
one hundred and forty three students.

After college she would like to pursue a career as a social worker. She was inspired to
pursue this career after watching her close friend deal with the challenges of the foster
care system. Laura also excels at extra circular activities. She is the manager of the
High School wrestling team. This leadership position has allowed her develop skills
working with and managing her peers.

Laura is an extremely hardworking individual who has overcome barriers in life to

achieve her goals. She is a thoughtful and caring young woman who would like to
utilize her hard work to help others. Laura is a motivated and outgoing individual whom
I strongly believe will be an asset to any college that she chooses to attend.
