URBAN DOMAIN designing for multiple uses
For this studio, the clients requested a mixed-use
space: family home, bookshop, cafe and live in
studios for visiting artists. The construction was
limited to concrete slab and column, so I took
full advantage of this technique with elevated
plantings, green roofs and suspended rooms.
I used this studio to push my skills in Revit. Thermal and
daylight analysis were conducted inside Revit and renders were
completed using Autodesk cloud render. Whilst linework was
largely completed in Revit, Illustrator was used to finish some
drawings.

This studio centered on an ambitious brief: to create an

spaces. The huge site demanded a constant shift in scale, from
detail to masterplan. The existing buildings and the giant mass
structure of the coal loader itself made for an complex and
challenging design.

I took the opportunity to experiment with concrete modeling,

loader platform in 3D and then cracking it using physics-based
simulation. I further explored techniques for rendering and 3D
representation, including immersive virtual reality.
