Definition of terms
Health- it is the complete well being of an individuals body, mind and his/her social
sorroundings. It is also the absence of any sickness or injury.
Health Education: It is a type of education that aims to inform people about health
and use this knowledge to improve their overall well being.
>Learner- This element represents the one who wants to learn or the one who
needs to learn.
>Teacher- This element represents the persons that are qualified to give education
to the learners.
A teacher must undergo the required training (i.e. 4-5 years training and
LET). A teacher must possess certain attitudes like equality, passion, patience and
enthusiasm because this attitudes will promote the learning experience of the
learners inside the classroom.
>Curriculum- This element symbolizes the plan made to be followed by the teacher
to maximize the learning process and be efficient on the time spent on one session.
>Environment- This element represents the overall surroundings of the learner and
teacher.
>Change- this outcome is brought about by the knowledge that came from the
teaching learning process. It can be bad or good depending on how the receiver
used the information he/gained through the learning experience. It has three types
-Private
-Public
Public Healthcare is under the control of the government (DOH). It aims to provide
cheap but quality healthcare to the public. But public hospitals has a lot problems
that affects the quality of their services like Corruption, shortage of doctors,
shortage of funds and the large population of the country.
Private healthcare is under the supervision of private owners but still abides the law
promulgated by the republic. Some private hospitals are better than public hospitals
but are more expensive so it is not accessible to everyone.
>Secondary- Hospitals that can provide patients with the healthcare for more
advanced illnesses
>Tertiary- Hospitals that can provide healthcare and treatment for those people who
needs special procedures or tests.
III. Historical perspective of health education
