2. HEALTH AND SAFETY

3. EDUCATION
The education programs primarily focus on two areas transportation of school children (especially th
running education centres (AIS Unnati Centres) for the school drop-out children.

School drop-out rates in this area is high among girl children due to lack of safe local transportation. T
started in 2004, continues to enable 475 girl children from about 34 villages to commute from Rewari
Bawal.

Two AIS Unnati Centres covering about 58 children are run in Mohammadpur & Kheramurar which en
who have dropped out of school to continue education. Out of the above, 17 children appeared for cla
school.

Vocational training has been provided to more than 130 boys and 62 girls. Boys were trained in compu
culture. 20 girls have also been referred to tailoring courses. Among those trained, 27 girls have alrea
full-time or part-time basis and 11 boys have been gainfully employed. To enable these youth to set u
management training is also being imparted.

4. WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION

Falling levels of ground water, lack of access to safe drinking water and increasing the disuse of tradit
are pressing issues in the realm of water and sanitation in Rewari. Under the water & sanitation progra
around Rewari, awareness covering the rainwater harvesting, recycling, managing waste water, water
and low-cost sanitation facilities were imparted.
Water & sanitation issues are better dealt with at a community level, for which community mobilisatio
during the year focused on community mobilisation for participatory planning in villages through wom

1992 - The company undertook to implement a project to manufacture laminated safety windshields.

1996 - Company has successfully implemented expansion of installed capacity in the laminated plant
windshields and in tempered plant to 1137000 sq. mtrs.

2000 - The Rs 10-crore commercial paper programme of Asahi India Safety Glass Ltd. has been assign

2001 - The Company has entered into a joint venture with one of its distributors, Map Auto, and will m
investment in and acquire 1,00,000 equity shares in Map Auto Glasses.
