APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO BASIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN

LEATHER PRODUCTS TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR
2016/2017

The Dar Es Salaam Institute of Technology (Mwanza Campus) invites applications from qualified candidates
for the admission into the Institutes Basic Technician Certificate in Leather Products Technology
Programme for the academic year 2016/2017 scheduled to commence in March/April 2017.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All applications are under private sponsorship (Institute hostels availability is subject to Availability of
space).
A.1 Minimum Entry Requirement

(i) Holder of good Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum average of C grade (a maximum of
9 total points) or (a minimum of 6 total points) based on the conversion respectively: A=1, B=2, C=3,
D=4 (for applicants who completed Form IV before 2013, 2015 and 2016/17) and A=5, B+=4, B=3 C=2,
D=1 (for applicants who completed Form IV in 2013 and 2014) respectively in the following three
subjects; Physics/Engineering Science, Mathematics and Chemistry or English, or must have a good
General Certificate Course in Engineering (GCE).

(ii)Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with a minimum passes of D in Mathematics and at
least Trade Test II/NVA level II or above in the related field of study from VETA accredited Institution.

D: CLOSING DATE :The closing date for receiving the application forms is 6th March, 2017.
Closing date for applications should be observed. No consideration will be made for late applicants.

E: WARNING
Submission of forged certificates or any false information is criminal offence and will be handled according to
the law.

F: SELECTION AND START OF THE PROGRAM

Programme for the academic year 2016/2017 scheduled to commence in March/April 2017 BUT the
commencement of the programme is subjected to the approval of the submitted curriculum by the
NACTE Board and Council.
