Digital Citizenship, Internet Safety, E-Rights & Responsibilities

Lesson Internet Safety and Digital Reputation (approximately 2 hours)

This lesson is designed to be used in a middle school classroom with using mixed media for lesson
delivery. Activities are flexible enough for instructor to choose individual or small group participation for
most of the activities.

Objectives

Students will explain at least one way to create a screen shot and describe how a screen shot
can be used to spread information quickly.
Students will tell how to prevent negative consequences of digital dirt.
Students will explain how to avoid creating digital dirt.
Students will distinguish between safe and unsafe digital world behavior.
Students will illustrate and list safe and unsafe digital behavior.
