Jumbo Tube:
Water Filtration Done Right

Kit Parts:

Walmart Amaco Wireform Modeler's Mesh $7.99

Walmart Activated Carbon Pad (2) $12.98

Home Depot 6 x 2 PVC SDR-35 Riser Pipe $8.97

Total Cost $29.94

Assembly:
The Jumbo Tube filtration systems production is planned on being completely
completed in the U.S., most likely in a production-line style, in which the pipe will be
properly built and packaged. From there it will be delivered directly to the purchaser,
requiring no further assembly on their part.
In the production line, the Activated Carbon Pad will be first laid out and cut into
circles with a circumference of 6, and will then be attached to the inside of the PVC, in
such a way that they will be slid into the PVC. The pads will then attach such that they
could be removed in the future, for easy replacement or cleaning. In total there will be
twenty-two circular pads of Activated Carbon sheets inside of the Jumbo Tube. Once
they are all properly attached, the Modelers Mesh will be cut into two circular pieces,
and then placed on the top of the Jumbo Tube, one on top of the other. This way the
mesh will be more durable, as well as providing smaller holes for the debris to travel
through. The Jumbo Tube will then be packaged and is ready to be delivered to the new
owner.
While the Jumbo Tube will come fully assembled, there may be occasional
maintenence required to be done by the owner, and due to this, the mesh will be able to
be easily removed from the top of the pipe, such that the carbon pads will be easily
accessible. When purchasing the pipe, any excess pads that were not used in the
process will be included as replacements, as well as the option to purchase more pads
before delivery.

Flow of Water:
The Jumbo Tube is designed such that water will be poured into the top of the
pipe, and the water will be filtered as it flows downwards through the pipe. On top of the
pipe is a wire mesh that will prevent any major forms of debris, such as chunks of dirt
and stone, from moving any further in the filtration process. This not only begins the
cleaning of the water, but with larger items out of the way, they will not damage the
carbon pads underneath, allowing for a more durable, reliable, and long-lasting filtration
system.
Once past stage one, the contaminated water will go through a series of
Activated Carbon Pads. With 18 total pads in the pipe, the water will be filtered of any
smaller forms of debris such as the dirt that contaminates the water. The reason that
Carbon pads are used is due to their capability to filter out most toxic components in
water. The pads trap micro organic particles that could potentially harm humans. To
make sure that virtually every potentially harmful aspect is properly dealt with, twenty-
two layers of these pads are installed instead of only eleven, requiring two sets of pads
to be purchased.
From stage two, the water, now clean and ready to be consumed, will be able to
be distributed as needed, and will then be able to be properly stored and used. The
Jumbo Tube does not, however, come equipped with a means of storing any clean
water produced from the filtering system, but that problem is most likely avoidable with
the use of the owners own water storing methods.
