(Lights up with teacher in class teaching Caribbean history and


literature)
Teacher: So students of course todays theme is celebrating Jamaica, exploring Jamaicas legacy
in a global context.

Everybody: yeeeeessssss miss. (Bolt ran in the class panting)

Teacher: wait bolt why you just coming to class.

Bolt: Miss diss morning the traffic was long, mi affi over tek about three thousand four hundred
and fifty seven cars before i get here.

Teacher: really bolt?

Bolt: Yes miss and pan top a dat me get stop out the school gate by mr Kelly. But god so good a
missa Kelly and a neva d nock knee lady or else i wouldnt reach here so yet.

Teacher: So what happen Mr. Kelly give ticket for speeding? Anyways you need to get out your
history book and take notes.

Everybody: Miss we tired fi tek notes now.

Bolt: I dont like to write about history. I wah mek history pon d track !

Ranking: Like back in the days when Charlie chaplin and josey whales a set it pan di sound
system dem like metro media, Stone lov.......

Lou lou: Yeah, like back in di days li8ke bredda anancy used to trick tiger.

Marley: Yes I like back in the days when reggae used to put Jamaica pan the map.

Boggle: Dem time deh a bob was the king of reggae but nw me ago be the king of Dancehall.

Marley: Oh deh dancer boy careful, bob is still di king and anything weh afta bob is bobby socs

Everybody: True Marley

Bolt: Yeah and like how mi wah be runner, a mi aguh forward after Donald quarie>

Teacher: hello, student what is this, i need back my class.

Everybody: Miss yuh nuh si we a celebrate wi legacy. You have any legacy to celebrate
Teacher: You guys dont even know what legacy means.

Lou lou: Yuh yuh right about that miss cause if everytime you come to this class to teach all
you duh is give us a bagga a notes. How we fi learn when you not teaching us?

Teacher: Hello, excuse you; what else should i do? Give notes and discuss it, pastor have to
work hard for his gown. Therefore, every student should do the same.

Everybody: That is poor teaching and learning!, how about howard gardener approach in
teaching students with multiple influence.

Teacher: Student i will not have this today i need my class. Can i have it please?

Everybody: Noooo we wah classroom justice.

Boggle: Yea man! After mi cah learn like this i am a bodily kinesthatic learner.

Lou lou: And i am sure many of us in this classroom are audio and visual learner. So if dem cah
see weh yah teach it nuh mek nuh sense yuh just a talk. History and literature class teacher need
to start use drama methodology to bring across them lesson.

Ranking: Caz i could dub or dj some a dat history. But diss class nuh av nuh vibes we cah learn.

Boggle: One ting we know she cuda talk till god come , if i nuh able fi do it, me cah learn

Marley: And if i cah sing it i cah understand it.

Everybody: True marley we wah celebrate jamaicas legacy global context. Not everyone is
going to become lawyers, doctors, teachers and nurses. What about sports, entertainment,
athletics, music, drama and dance. We have to embrace we culture.

Teacher: Everybody listen to me, students i will not stand here and allow you to insult my
intelligence. So if i cant have my class, Im going to report the entire class to Mr. Kelly.

Everybody: She cah duh thats Impossible.

Teacher: Ok then. Test me. (Walks through the circle and through the door)

Everybody: hmmm hmmm now Spanish town mr. Kelly is coming. A weh we ago duh yah
now!

Boggle: We ago protest!

Lou lou: yes boggle classroom justice whos with we. (Start gives the students plac cards to
protest)
