Synchronization:
Synch Method: Ethernet connection via LAN Networks, WiFi capable, Cellular, and local ISP dialup via
analog Land-Line Modem.
Synch Times: Up to 12 times per day, scheduled by customer.
Smart Sync for Ethernet and WiFi allows for real-time punch data to be sent over.
For dialup, if line is busy, makes another attempt after 5 minutes making 3 attempts.
Synch Duration: Typically 1-2 minutes for every 25 employees for each scheduled synch
and occasionally up to one hour to update software.

Supervisor Main Menu


Depending on the level of access, the Supervisor or Employee Main Menu will display after log-
ging in. The primary difference between them is the Supervisor access to the Administrative
Menu. Other differences may be noticed based on the sites configuration.

Supervisor Registration
In order to register all employees at the WalTer, the Supervisor has to register first.
Follow the steps below.

Type the Employee Number


assigned using the keypad, and
press the key.

This displays the Supervisor Main


Menu

Note: If your ID number


does not bring you to the
Supervisor Menu, check
you used the correct
employee number.
Contact System Adminis-
trator or Payroll for help.

At the Supervisor Menu, choose


option for Administrative Menu on
the keypad or screen.

type the Employee Number.

through recording your fingerprint
so you can clock in and do all
Supervisor tasks.
Choose a finger on your left hand
to register. Index finger is
normally used.
When the finger is properly
placed in the reader, press
the key to take the image.

Default Department and


Language

After the fingerprint registration


choose the Supervisors default
department/location (naming con-
vention depends on your
companys configuration).

If employee works more


than one job/department,
check those they will work.

Change Language to the default


for the employee.

Registering Supervisor: Payment Method


This only applies for those companies using Insight Pay cards.

Once the Language is selected,


the Supervisors payment method
is chosen. Options here will de-
pend on your state and company
requirements.

NOTE: These will only apply


if the company is using
Insight Pay cards.

Direct Deposit to a Receive a Paper


Bank Account Paycheck
If the employee will have Employee chooses to

Not every company uses


scan cards as back up, nor
pay cards for their employ-
ees. Only use the option(s)
that apply in your circum-
stance.

card.

Direct Deposit

After the fingerprint registration


choose the payment method.

Choose Direct Deposit to a Bank


Account on screen or keypad.

account information for the
employee with them at this

Registering Supervisor: Personal Information


This applies only to those companies using Insight Pay cards.

Use the on-screen keyboard to


complete the fields. Use a
capped pen to type for increased
accuracy.

NOTE: These will only apply


if the company is using
Insight Pay cards. You will type
the name again.

Type the data into the field and


press White keys for UP,
DOWN, PREVIOUS or NEXT.
Press Return after completing
the field. Keying is similar to a
smart phone or other keyboard.
Remember to press when
complete to save.

or several times to return to

Registering Supervisor: Assign Pay or Swipe


Assigning Pay Cards only applies to those companies using
Insight Pay cards. Swipe cards can apply to all.

Login to Administrative Menu.


Choose the option for Modify
Existing or Register New
Employee on the keypad or
screen.

NOTE: Swipe and Pay


cards may not be reissued
to other employees. They
are single issue.

Use the on-screen keyboard to


choose the employee.
Press when complete. You selected Bill Smith [21546789]

Choose New Pay Card to add a


swipe card for the employee. Re-register employee

Swipe the card from top to bottom New Swipe Card


with the strip in the reader and

Registering Employee(s):

The Supervisor registers the employees using the same steps

It is important to remember to have employee number and all
details ready when starting the registration process.

This applies to Supervisors and Employees

Place the registered finger on the


fingerprint reader and type the
Employee Number if prompted,
on the keypad and press the
key.

NOTE: Supervisors may


be prompted to approve
mismatched punches or
PTO requests prior to
punching.

Press the button to move


forward and punch.
Supervisory actions will be

Press to acknowledge
receipt of the message or to
ignore it. See your Supervisor before end of shift to sign W4 forms.

You may be able to use the

Using the WalTer T6: Clock-OUT Prompts


Additional prompts can be configured to prompt on any out punch for specific Paygroups.
Up to nine prompts are available and they can be configured to read as your company needs.
In the following example, Tips and Mileage are required entries while Travel Time is optional. The
Safety Question follows any prompts.

Using the WalTer T6: PTO MenuView & Balance


This applies to Supervisors and Employees

Use the white keys to move UP


or DOWN and choose the PTO
request to edit.
Press the key to Edit the
request.
Follow the steps from Request
PTO pages to edit.

NOTE: You may only edit


requests that are not already
approved or denied.
To change approved requests,
talk to your supervisor.

To Print PTO requests press the


key.

To Exit back to the main Employ-


ee Menu, press the key.

Using the WalTer T6: PTO MenuView & Balance

To view your PTO Balance,


choose that option on screen or
keypad from the PTO Menu.

To Print PTO balances press


the key.

The balances display hours


allocated, used and balance by
date.

Use the white keys to move UP


and Down.

To Exit back to the main Em-


ployee Menu, press the
key.

Supervisor Clock IN Prompts: Mismatched


Fingerprints

After a Supervisor logs in, if


there are mismatched finger-
prints to approve, there will be a
prompt to review/approve all or
selectively.
To move past this to Clock IN,
press the to handle these
later.

To handle at login, mismatched


fingerprints can be approved
selectively or all at once.
Reviewing them selectively
gives the opportunity to see
who is having issues and how
often. Use the white keys at the
bottom of the screen to Ap-
prove All, Approve Selected
Row and move UP and
DOWN through the displayed
punches.
Press to Edit a row
or to Exit to the
Administrative Menu.

Supervisor Clock IN Prompts: PTO Approval

After a Supervisor logs in, if


there are PTO requests to ap-
prove, there will be a prompt
to Approve Now
or to move past this to Clock IN,
press the to handle these
later.

To handle at login, PTO Ap-


proval is done one line at a
time.
Use the white keys at the bot-
tom of the screen to APPROVE
SELECTED ROW or REJECT
and move UP and DOWN
through the displayed requests.
Press to Exit to the
Administrative Menu or Clock
IN.

Edit Clock-IN/Clock-OUT(s).
You will then choose the site

Access from Administrative Menu

After a Supervisor logs in, choose


Administrative Menu.

NOTE: Only do this if you


are using Insight Pay Cards
as provided by EPAY Sys-
tems.
Choosing this option will
initiate an order of 25 cards.

Choose Order Additional Pay


Cards
from the menu.
