Preserving the Environment

From the graceful ocean waters to the evergreen forests, and to the wizened areas of the

deserts to the towering mountains: all of which are gracefully enveloped by revolving climates

and living nature, is what we call the Environment. The Environment that spheres mankind

continues to prevail as an imperative factor that sustains humanitys lifestyles, as well as natures

greatest it is the source of what us humans began to thrive off of, and how we became

sufficient in living. We seek only to satisfy our own necessities, neglecting how giving, and

sacred nature is. The grasp of disvalue settled on the environment, results in unintentional

various kinds of pollution, global warming, extinction, and as well as other negative

environmental factors. But, without nature, how would we develop and live? The world now is

focusing on going green. So, instead of questioning how would we live without nature... how

about asking ourselves, what could we do, to bring back the balance between humans and

nature?

Negative consequences continue to overtake any positive that nature gives. Eventually,

environments around us will no longer be able to possess the ability to satisfy humanity with its

gracious resources. Humans lifestyles are naturally linked with the environment. Its just how

life works, and its a part of us. Some may not know, but as long as we are present in this world,

we all have a responsibility and that is giving back to what we have used. Environmental
responsibility takes place in all humans, and if we all took that responsibility into our actions

every day, there is a high chance of preserving our sacred environments. Pollution is one of the

biggest killers, affecting more than 100 million worldwide (Kukreja). To bring back and sustain

the environment, requires much vigilance and dedication. Present in this world, many individuals

remain conscious of their harmful contributions to the earths surface-such as littering. The result

of that concludes to multiple factors concerning public health. For instance, the trash thrown

draws the attention of vermin, such as rodents, to more concentrated areas- causing degradation

of plants, as well as the carry of diseases. Individuals doubt that they can't make a big impact on

the environment, however, in fact that's the opposite. As each and every human being contributes

to recycling, no matter how meager it may seem- the amount piles up and leaves a positive

impact. Composting and recycling alone have prevented 85 million tons of waste to be dumped

in 2010 (Kukreja). As little as a plastic bottle being recycled every day, can help save over

millions of wastes being dumped into our sacred environment.

Its not an easy transition to a healthy sustained environment, regarding the worlds status

presently. Containing a rich, healthy environment actually takes a long time in creating a positive

global impact. However, there are multiple ways to protect it from degrading. Air pollution has

been a big problem in many countries, especially in China. The pollution is so drastic, that it was

reported to be creating atmospheric brown clouds. Increasing amounts of soot, sulphates and

other aerosol components in atmospheric brown clouds are causing major threats to the water

and food security of Asia (Preserving the Environment Pg. 39, Paragraph: 1). If the pollution

in Asia is not alleviated accordingly, the same problem can link to the U.S. As stated as a fact,

Pollution in China can change the weather in United States (Kukreja). For example, auto

mobiles contain the majority percentage of daily transportation. But, at the same time, they
contribute to massive pollutes of carbon dioxide, A single car generates half a ton of CO2

(Kukreja). In fact, a solution to decreasing carbon dioxide in the air would to be limiting the

amount of automobiles, such as the use carpooling and electrical-based cars. China is the

worlds largest producer of carbon dioxide. United States is number 2 (Kukreja). Also, many

industries contain utility plants, process chemicals that result in the release of multiple gases

such as carbon dioxide. Conserving energy will reduce air pollution by sustaining the demand

and pressure on utility plants lower than its usual state. Plants are a main source in keeping the

air by lowering the carbon dioxide levels could leave such an impact on the air.

Water pollution is mainly distributed by sewages and waters that contain toxic wastes,

which are sourced from the negligent human beings, and their ways of disposing it.

Consequently, ocean marine life is still being affected by detrimental actions caused by mankind.

This results to the endangered marine life across all the oceans, having sanitized water is an

imperative factor in keeping the environment clean. The action of forbidding input chemicals of

any sort in a sewer, or drain is always helpful to decrease the risk of endangered marine life.

Mass extinctions of marine life to industrialized fishing has been a concern for many years. Yet

it rarely makes mainstream headlines (Preserving the Environment Pg. 110 P: 2). In addition

to water pollution, the key perceptive is to not waste water, More than 1 billion people

worldwide dont have access to safe drinking water (Kukreja). Having unused excess water

flow down the drain is never an efficient way to utilize resources. When water is wasted, it goes

through the process of recycling which involves the use of abundant amounts of energy and

electricity, which usually comes from the burning of fossil fuels. Also, the amount of water

being sold should not be taken for granted. Little, yet major simple steps like conserving water

could help out marine life, and human life, by a ton.

Ultimately, there are various kinds of pollution that are caused by various kinds of

factors. But overall, in order to preserve the environment, there are different kinds of ways that

can be taken to avoid continuous negative impact on the environment, resulting in a world with a

more, sustainable healthy sphere around us. Humans and the environment of this world are

linked together, and its our job to give back to nature, and keep it clean and environmental

friendly. Only now humans are beginning to divert their attention towards this major problem in

the world. The famous phrase being passed around, going green, indicates the process of

relieving the world off of its assorted pollutions. The goal for us is to stay green- by improving

on helping the environment and making the world a better place.
